good start for him. if he keeps up his production he could maybe get drafted between 6-8th in draft? i know projections got him 10-12th i think .i think hes better then that though

I can’t see him outside the top 10 by the time the draft rolls around.

He’s got everything you want in a prospect.

He’s a guy I wouldn’t be surprised to be taken in the top 5 of any given draft, thats what he looks like.

I’m not too well versed on the draft, outside of looking at some lists and seeing a game or two of the top guys. Desnoyers is one of the only guys I’ve seen live, but he looks like a prototypical top of the draft player.

Would look great on Montreal's 1st or 2nd line
Excited to see his progression this year. Could have a Huberdeau type of draft year
 
How is his skating? From the very little I've seen of him, he looks like an average skater. Philadelphia needs some speed in the center position.

Yep, Desnoyers has been very impressive.

But more than the stats, what I like most about his game is how his offensive and defensive skillsets complement each other.

His defensive prowess and success at cutting passing lanes, pinching-in for a D by boxing-out his man, or helping win board battles down low lead to transition chances. Which he has the anticipation and skating to activate and participate in, either as puck-support or as a primary zone-entry option.

Desnoyers' offensive skill, puck-protection, and Hockey IQ mean that he also rarely gives-up the puck in dangerous areas of the ice, but more importantly that he is very often well-positioned to help-out defensively should the possession get overturned.

Which of course leads back to his defensive game away from the puck, and how good it is already in his draft year.

Simply put, I think that the way Desnoyers has managed to integrate his high-level offensive and defensive games is impressive and should translate extremely well in the pros.

It's extremely early, but I see shades of Sean Couturier when I see Desnoyers play. I'd have him #8 on my list right now.

And he might still fall outside the top 10 which is more an indication of how good this draft is starting to look than a knock on him.

His brother was an excellent 2-way centre as well and was drafted by the Flyers.
 
Haven’t been watching him much recently, but he’s kept up the point production. Love everything the kid brings. Is there a chance he hops over Frondell and McQueen into the top 5? McQueen got a somewhat serious back injury and Frondell has been off to just an alright start.

A chance? Yeah, but probably not going to happen. All things being equal they’ll probably go ahead unless they completely tank the rest of the season.

I doubt it but whoever gets Desnoyers is going to get a real damn good player and it he may end up being better than a lot of the guys that go ahead of him
