Some more on Kempe as we start our countdown series leading into the 2014 NHL Draft:

At 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Kempe draws in at 27 on Future Considerations’ Top 30. A two-way forward by trade, he posses great tools and uses them all at both ends of the ice. He’s a strong skater, and in combination with his size, he becomes a handful to contain for defenders when he comes barreling down the wing. Kempe’s offensive arsenal isn’t overly complex, but is solid nonetheless equipped with a solid shot and reliable passing ability.

There's no chance he plays in Barrie this year right?

Not that I know, but I don't see why it'd make sense. Guys usually come over pre-draft. Occasionally they come over post-draft, but this kid's already earned a spot with Modo. Staying there is best for his development for the next couple years.

He said in this interview that he not will play for Barrie and probably play for Modo next season but if the NHL club that will draft him wants him to go to NHL immediately he will do that.

Physical yes, but in skills no. If he plays well and develop his skills he might get a top six role in SHL and some PP time this season.

I agree. Shoving him in the NHL would be a huge mistake. He has a lot of untapped potential, and is too raw to be a good offensive player in the NHL right now. In the SHL he can continue to develop against grown men without the competition being quite NHL-level, which is perfect for guys who are, like you said, physically ready for the NHL but not skill-wise. Physically mature players drafted out of the CHL don't have that option.

Kempe is a speedy Swedish power forward with a great shot that he loves to use and likes to beat defenders.

Has qualities the Capitals have looked for in the past and Ovechkin like qualities.

Seems like he'll be a good fit with the Kings down the road given his description/scouting reports and how the Kings play. They won't be rushing him out of Sweden so I figure he'll complete his two-year deal with Modo and possibly make his way over to the States after his SHL contract is up.

His skating style and explosive speed reminds me of Gaborik.

Pump your tires son. ;). He is nowhere even remotely close to the explosiveness or speed of Gabby. Nope nope. Yes does have quick speed and has a long powerful stride which is particularly impressive considering his size and strength. I had Kempe as a top 10 pick this year and I stand by that. Kempe is a great prospect with plenty of upside. Can't wait to see him in LA (can't believe he slipped to LA's pick).

Such a perfect fit in LA as well. The rich getting richer.

Don't you know if your "one of us" you are suppose to over hype players on the prospect board....

Unless you are full Jets fan now....;)

Next Kopitar if you ask me. Or what MSP was suppose to be. Or probably a Ovi that plays D...can't decide yet:D

I swear I have seen posters say that for literally every pick outside the top 5 now.
