Would be a massive get for Kitchener if he reports, and I doubt they make this trade if they didn't think it was likely.

These types of trades happen all the time.

Low risk for Kitchener if he doesn't report. Only a 15th round pick.

100% agreed, it's just a single preseason game, doesn't really mean anything.
Serious question, do players switch leagues in this fashion (not demoted to a lesser league but pretty much a lateral move to a rival league) during the course of a season like this?

I get preseason has less importance than the regular season, but if there was a plan for this trade and him to sign in the OHL why would he even show up to Chicago’s preseason and why would Chicago waste any ice time on him?

It would be unusal. The picks are conditional on him actually coming over, which is almost certainly not happening this year.

1+1 in his first USHL game. Seems to be the real deal. Only problem is that he’s listed at 5’8.75, so he needs to grow to be a high draft pick most likely.

He was tied for the leading scorer at the WHC17. Having a decent season in the USHL with 3+3=6 points in 13 games.

He's listed by EP at 5'11. He is NOT 5'11. USHL website says 5'8.5, which is a lot more believable. Bro is a smurf.

He never stops moving his feet. The skating is maybe only okay or a little better, but when you move your feet so relentlessly that's going to work. He has a little bit of the Marco Rossi/Gavin Brindley profile of smurf center with good scoring and a lot of motor and effort and energy in all zones. Whether he can play center as he moves up and if you think the offense is truly like first line level in the future will be a question. I see somewhere between a middle first round pick to a middle second round pick as the likely outcome.

I don’t see first round at all being 5’9 without off the chart speed . I would think he leaves the Steel for WHL team so get a better view at him next year .
