no, hes been up for trade all year, he couldnt get traded before the season so went to the echl, obviously came back.

but maybe the deadline makes teams think twice?

A 17 yr old ‘BUG’ with a record of 21-5 and supporting numbers of 1.92 and 0.927 earned playoff starts. Oster might be waived at the deadline if Oshawa had a ‘BUG’ of that calibre.
Culina did not lose the Windsor net, DiPietro took it. As a trade deadline acquisition, OA Culina was excellent for Kitchener.

I know you’re not as high on Oster as I am, but yeah, if Gravelle (who I think is going to be solid in the O) was as good as Medvedev has been for London, it would be difficult not to waive or trade Oster and then use the other OA spot on a skater. That’s a tough decision for the Hunter’s to make, as there is a lot of quality OA’s out there which could be available imo.

I am like 99.9 percent sure Soo wouldn’t move Miller though haha Miller/Gibson package? haha

My rationale behind it: Soo could then bring in Noah Tegelaar next season and have Medvedev and Noah battle for a starting position. Charlie stays in SSM and helps Soo keep a playoff spot. London gets an elite goalie to “back up” or even a starter, that can be used next year or even flipped at next years deadline (the London way ). Again, just kind of throwing pasta at the wall here with this idea.

What about a Gibson, Allard/Mignosa package? That’s the blockbuster move of the deadline imo, just eeking out whoever gets Romani and Van Steensel. Or Pinelli, Mayich?

McCoy and Coughlan out of the line up tonight. Maybe something brewing there. McCoy most likely of the two to get dealt along with Musty.

I think we will see a McCoy deal as soon as the trade window opens. Musty as soon as 1st rounders are allowed to be dealt IMO.

I will say he has played much better than I expected with very good numbers (10 pts in 13 games and a + 10 ) while still very physical.

There is always risk. And if the plan is to trade him next year anyway….why bother taking the risk. We have had some of the same discussions in Ottawa with Mews. If the plan is to trade him next year, why wait?

Owen Sound is a unique market in the OHL .I won't attempt to explain it .

Carter George is a huge draw in Owen Sound . His family, and many others are also fixtures. They are a huge part of our Attack family.

The fans have accepted a rebuild , Carter will keep bums in seats . He is a tremendous role model for the others, including his understudy Koprowski . Carter loves playing in Owen Sound.

There is huge value in Carter staying with the Attack this season .

Under that scenario, what they do this year with goaltending and their OA’s is inconsequential. The primary topic is the trading of George. If they feel they need stability in net and they choose to prioritize that then so be it, otherwise they roll with their younger goalies.

We are only talking in hypotheticals. By the sounds of it, OS is not looking to move George ever, let alone this year.

2 weeks today is the trade deadline. Teams cannot hide in the weeds anymore. Time for a clear direction and who really thinks they have a shot.

The two biggest targets are an 05F and 05D who could return next season, or Konnor Smith if the price is right. They could also use an 07F to give them future depth.

That was 5x2nds, 2x3rds, Egor Afanasyev (1x2nd, and 3rds were conditional) for DiPietro, 2nd, 4th.

Afanasyev ended up signing with Windsor and played the 2019-20 season with Windsor.

Depending on the value placed on one season of Afanasyev, I would consider the two deals very similar. I believe the conditional picks were a combination of Afanasyev reporting and the 67s winning the OHL Championship. @OHL4Life could probably look up the exact conditions for accuracy.

The Windsor Star reported that the picks were conditional on Afanasyev playing for Windsor.

"As for the only player to come to the Spitfires in Tuesday’s trade, the six-foot-two, 190-pound Afansyev is up for the 2019 NHL Draft and has a verbal commitment to Michigan State University, but Rychel is hopeful.

“There’s a slight chance he’ll come this year, but I’m very positive getting him for September,” Rychel said. “I feel good about him being a Spitfire in 2019-20.”

Should Afansyev report, all three conditional picks in Tuesday’s trade will return to the 67’s."

With regards to value on one season, it's tough to say. Windsor had a solid club before COVID-19 hit and may have won a round. However, we'll never know.
