Dang wanted to see Bunting take home the Calder , and watch this site implode! lol
it was actually Hyman driving play constantly himself to be honest. he was their third best forward against calgary and show up against the avs too. he had an incredible playoff and earned every inch of itWhat's funny? I don't know what your trying to say here, We don't miss Hyman enjoy him hope he continues to do well for you guys,
and was it him having a dynamite playoffs or was it McDavid inflating his numbers?
Cool I dont really care. Dont miss him he earned his money and the right to leave. I hope he continues to do well for u guys but I still dont know whats so funny we dont care he left so why rub it in our faces..... lol and this is a Bunting thread why is Hyman brought up in here anywaysit was actually Hyman driving play constantly himself to be honest. he was their third best forward against calgary and show up against the avs too. he had an incredible playoff and earned every inch of it

good thing i'm from bcIf there's one thing about Albertans in Canada, it's that they care more about what Torontonians than they care about themselves. This is a province that elected a Torontonian to be premier just because he put on a cowboy hat and said that he hated Ontario.
Rielly? He could've got 9M based on What D around the league were getting11 million like the other 1st liners would be my starting point as Bunting.. especially since Dubas has shown no ability to talk top of the lineup players down.
A year wiser, we’ve invested the learning years no point in jumping ship when the gang is ripening.I wouldn't be in such a hurry. Another first round exit next year and why would you keep rolling back the same team over and over and over again?

Give him the Hyman deal. Both had roughly the same amount of games. 2.5 x 4.
Hope he can be a 60 point forward and if not, at least 40 point with bite and he's a good player who can play depth or top 6.
Matthews and Marner also didnt do anything close to what they did when Hyman was here. Bunting is a nice player but is he truly.that good or is he the product of playing with 2 x 100 point forwards.Hyman never did anything close to what Bunting did in Toronto
Good teams add at the deadline. Losing teams sell.Hope Dubas talks with his agent this summer to find out how much he wants.
We can't lose him for free like Hyman.
What if you're a good losing team?Good teams add at the deadline. Losing teams sell.
The Leafs could try to offer him an extension this summer that takes some risk on their part namely that Bunting might not be a long term healthy .8 ppg player. Bunting gets security at the cost of a maximum payout he could score in the summer of 2023 with another strong season in 2022-23. 4 years at $3.5M (Kerfoot money) with full NMC?

He will tell the leafs to f*** off much like Campbell is doing
Problem with that approach is you're repeating the Andreas Johnsson negotiating tactic rewarding a guy with a small sample by locking them into a deal.
I'm betting there are quite a few unproven NHL players who'd love to line up with Matthews and marner.
I'm sure they would but as well have seen not all of them 100% fit
If it was that easy both Jimbo Joe and Ritchie would have stacked points
We almost need to see what cheap player has the best puck retrieval stats and sign him
Yeah, they have to bring certain attributes, but they don't have to be top 6 forwards on their own merit.
yup kicking the can down the road has worked well for us but by well i mean the summer before they become a ufa , it hasn't worked at all once there contract has expiredYep. With every gamble, there's always the possibility for a loss.
Overall I'm not too worried about the Bunting situation. He clearly has a good relationship with Dubas' and Keefe (what brought him to the Leafs to begin with). If the front office wants to keep him, they'll find room on a compromise
