Buff gave Sharks one point to become a hero in OT? Worst player on Jets tonight again. Sit him for 5-6 games
I mean, cmon.

You don't sit a top player like Buff for any number of games. We need to limit his ice time, and, ideally (and this is where I lose half the board) you should trade him and save the space and get a player back to fill some minutes.

I kinda think that was intentionally a pass by Buff. When he started to go down and around the net Little set up on the other side of the net and Buff sent it straight to him.

I give Maurice some credit for his coaching in this game. He has a tough task handling Buff. He knows he's a game-changing talent, but can be very frustrating. Putting him out at the beginning of OT paid short-term dividends since Buff made a game-changing play. I think it's also important for Buff to be highly motivated to buy in to the team and concepts. He's sulked a bit recently, and Maurice can't afford to have him in the dumps. Watch the rest of the Jets players after the OT goal. They were all over Buff with stinky gloves and other teammate hijinks. Buff needs that sort of affirmation. Good call by Maurice to start Buff in OT this game.
Fully agreed with this. Was funny to see 3 different jets players shoving Buff into the boards and giving him a facewash

But doesn’t Buff start EVERY overtime? Deserving or not?

He protected the puck well but went for the wraparound and missed. Luckily it slid off his stick right to little.
One nice possession play does not make up for a half dozen absolutely horrible plays the rest of the game.
He can’t continue to play that way.
Thank goodness we still got the two points. M
Hopefully Kuli is back soon.
Buff took a really bad penalty after that Sharks goal, but give the man credit for the assist in OT. That goal had set play written all over it.

Get a grip, embarrassing.
LOL, a veteran 7 mil veteran defender, arguably strongest guy in NHL did nothing to prevent fourth goal and than takes stupidest penalty that's embarrassing

Little was great on the OT goal. Won a puck battle in the corner with 2 sharks on him and got the puck back to Ehlers, Buff does that same trick he always tries and again Little battled through a check to beat his man to the loose puck that was aimlessly passed in front.

Yet Buff is the savior? What the...

That's the same guy who stood straight up, knees locked and gave the lamest effort to try and stick check someone on the game tying goal.

This guy was awful all game long. One decent play and everyone thinks he's a god.

Unreal.

Little was great tonight, MP, Ehlers, Armia, Morrissey, and Trouba.

I thought Dano played well in his short time on ice.

That's a Manitoba special right there. They used to have a flat bottle opener waxed into every box back in the stubby pre-twist off era.

I think it says a lot about how far this team has come when both Wheeler and Buff can have very off games, and the team can still put up 5 goals and win. Not to mention do this without Scheifs and Lowry in the lineup and down to 5 Dmen for the majority of the game. Wow.

Great first 10 minutes. The rest was a struggle and we were lucky to get a point nevermind 2. A wins a win though and sometimes you have to win ugly. . .

Losing Kuli hurt.

I thought Morrissey was fantastic. Throwing what weight he has in the corners. Nice breakouts. The way he was picking his offensive spots tonight was a treat to watch.

Thought Myers did a lot of good things tonight. Had the pick a lot. Lots of patients, ie head fake toe drag outside in. Broke up some odd man rushes.

Don't care if Buff assisted on the winner. He was floating in the third and the penalty he took for losing his composure was pure stupid.

Little, MP, Ehlers carried us tonight. All three were skating, forchecking and creating.

Wheeler was not sharp. Dumb penalties, silly mistakes and turnovers.

Laine had moments of okay. Got overmatched hard in our own zone on the 4th goal.

Most of the other forwards were fairly average/unnoticeable to bad.

2 points is 2 points but man was that ugly. . .
Armia was just okay?

I think Maurice started another D recently, but might be wrong. Point is that a lot of coaches would have benched Buff, especially for OT. Maurice has to balance tough love with trying to keep Buff motivated and enthusiastic. It's a fine line.

On another note, this was a big game for playoff implications. Jets jumped 3% (to 94%) according to Hockeyviz.

In all honesty I see Buff's game regressing (super slow) and he is not the same physical player from last year.
He took the absolute worst penalty at the worst time after that 4th San Jose goal.
We were very fortunate that San Jose got a too many men penalty.

Buff got lucky in overtime with his wandering.
If Little missed that goal on Buff's missed wraparound San Jose was off to the races.

He protected the puck well but went for the wraparound and missed. Luckily it slid off his stick right to little.

Don’t mind Roslovic at all on that first line.
Is he actually faster than Connor? Almost seems that way. Like his game a lot.

Buffs play on the OT goal was what he gets paid the big bucks for, almost impossible to contain.

Weird game, Jets got the 3-0 lead with some pretty lucky bounces and didn't look particularly good throughout the game but not bad either. Very average performance and if, when missing 2 key pieces from C and playing most of the game with 5D, that's enough to win against a strong Sharks team, I'm more than happy.

Can't wait for the playoffs.
