He brings something this team was sorely lacking in: speed and skill. It's refreshing watching him, unlike most of the other forwards who can only play a north-south game.

Ontario fans and Coach Stothers brought up both his skill and inconsistency. Looks like those who predicted Kempe would do better at the NHL level than he was doing at the AHL level were right.

He was sniping shots from that side of the ice a few years back at the WJC. In fact, I believe he was used as a RW in that tournament. He does like to shoot from his off-wing, just as Tomas Sandstrom used to do.

He's got 2 goals... let's not get crazy here. Then again, 2 goals in 14 games is Kopitar territory.

well i was the one that went toe to toe with a former mod about it and put down I maybe wrong but i don't recall anyone else asking about Kempe being recalled

I agree. One thing to keep in mind with Kempe is while he's buzzing around, there is still a bit of purpose to his game.

He had a great back check in the 2nd to prevent an offensive rush. He definitely is playing with purpose and proving that he belongs here.

LaDue did a great job defending against Eichel as well. It's a shame this team waited so damn long to call up these players who could've been helping the team much earlier.
