Win or lose, lets remember that this is the first game of the preseason. I just want to see good hockey and promise from the young guys! GHG

I would have dressed Tarnasky instead of a manlet that will never make it like St-Pierre. Don't want our players getting cheap shot.

I was actually surprised not to see him in the line up tonight.

Heh. What you see is what you get with him. I see tonight as the final evaluation for many kids who will end up being cut somewhere between the end of the game and tomorrow morning...

Tarnasky would have been useful VS Kaleta, but maybe they want to give McCarron the chance to show his strenght.

Totally agree PP, but I would have liked to see him in the line up, to look out for all the kids we have playing tonight.

That makes sense, would love to see McCarron tear a strip out of Kaleta.

Tressman won the game for the Bears by throwing the red flag. I wish the NHL would consider coach's challenges. Thing is timeouts are way more important in the NFL, can be the difference between winning and loosing, as everything is very often played in the last 2 minutes of the game. Just imagine Therrien throwing the red flag on the ice, it would be good for the sport, would add a dimension.

Other than that, I can't wait for tonight's game ! Galchenyuk will put up points. With his work ethic, and all his talent, it wouldn't surprise me if he started strong.

McCarron might be strong... But he has, what, 5 fights in in whole hockey career?

NO! It has to be tonight! We need to start building chemistry right away!

If it was another shortened season, I'd tend to agree. Pre-season has always been about watching some prospects handle the pressure of playing in an actual NHL game and to see where they are in their development. Chemistry can wait, especially in an 82-game season.

EDIT: And by your edit... I'm not sure if you're serious anymore.

Well, he sort of challenged Lucic, so he must feel pretty confident in his skills. I say, let's take it step by step and see if he can whoop an agitator like Kaleta who is not an heavyweight by any stretch.

Prust beat him last year.

O'Byrne actually pounded Kaleta a few years ago, so it's not that much of a feat.

Here's McCarron fight card :

That... Not a lot of fights.

Probably confident in his skills to eventually pound him, but he's probably not there yet.
