How are theses give-aways tabulated? The give-aways in the neutral and D zone are obviously a problem and teams are always trying to prevent those, but others are by choice.
Yeah that's the thing. Looks bad but again Leafs have the puck a lot.

It'd be nice if it could be broken down more.

Will the Leafs be discombobulated again tonight or will they control the game from start to finish?

Why even be a fan then Bert? Way too negative man.
Expecting the truth hurts less when it becomes reality. All too often our Leafs have let us fans down. That is the truth that this team has to overcome to help us Leaf fans to be less negative.

After 6 decades of cheering for my Leafs, this core of highly paid punks has me being a negative Nancy the most.

IMHO, there was more hope during the Ballard years than with this current team.

Thank you Shanahan for building a team that perfectly reflects the way you played hockey!!! :sarcasm:

Expecting a fairly easy win tonight.
As it SHOULD be, however our Leafs have a habit of not showing up to play sound hockey all too often!!!

That was a fun team to watch. Clark was a beauty. Always loved the ridiculous glove saves by Potvin. I guess by 96 that was kind of the end of that team from 93 run.

By choice?

Yes, at the end of shift dump they dump it in the corner and change lines. I never trust any of these stats unless I know how they’re actually scoring them and entering the data.
For example, I’ve seen some sites entering HD scoring chances, but as we watch it we’d all conclude it wouldn’t result in a goal unless there was an empty net, yet it’s counted.

I suppose they’re great for the spreadsheet fantasy league players to use as fodder in the summertime.

These miscellaneous stats are also really skewed by arena.

Last year, the range between first and last in the league on the road was 92 giveaways.
At home, the range between first and last was 496 giveaways...

That makes sense. Sometimes we don't understand the system they use and/or are working on (which is why I actually asked if that's what's going on earlier in the thread). People talked about horrible giveaways when they started doing that reversal play from (mostly) the corners under Babcock where someone facing the boards does a no-look backhand or through-the-legs pass to seemingly no one. I said right away it looked by design and the person to blame is the person who was supposed to be there looking for it. Now they've perfected it and no one ever mentions it (and almost every team does it now too). I still say they need to clean up the sloppiness though. They're being a little too loosey-goosey.

Feels great to know that every player on the team is playing so well you can't justify taking anyone out for a game

Leafs sitting at 24th in the league in 5-on-5 goals for due to our bottom 6 non-Kampf division being completely inept offensively, and Robertson one of our few players with offensive upside can't play games. In NOVEMBER.

They'll play to the level of their opponent. Nothing more than that.
A theme in the Keefe era is they rarely win because of what they do and are so dependent on the other team‘s play on any particular night. We saw it front and center in the playoffs against TB.

Engvall, Jarnkrok, Malgin, and Aston-Reese all have as many EVG as Matthews.

Hopefully not too much longer until Brodie is back.

Murray has looked quite good through the last 2 games but would be nice to get Samsonov back too so that they can split the load. Samsonov was playing so well.

Murray is in net? I’m sorry, you guys. Although he did accept a trade to you guys over Buffalo (understandably), so I have a feeling they’ll be more motivated tonight to beat the Leafs. I still expect a loss to extend the streak to 8.

But as an aside, who usually does the PBP? Is it still the annoying Jim Hughson?
