Just wondering the value on these potential trades:

NYR Receives

- JJ Peterka
- Bo Byram

BUF Recieves

- Laf or Cuylle
- Braden Schneider

VAN Receives

- Josh Norris
- Jiri Kulich
- Isak Rosen

BUF Receives

- Elias Pettersson

LAK Receives

- Jack Quinn
- Jacob Bernard-Docker or Connor Clifton

BUF Receives

- Brandt Clarke

I figure these would be the foundational pieces of trades, with additions possibly being made on one or both sides.

Buffalo gets taken to the cleaner on trade 1.

Vancouver doesn’t make trade 2.

Trade 3 could make sense value wise. Remains to be seen about fit.

1. Sabres get destroyed on trade 1 yikes. Peterka, Byram for Fox.
2. Sabres can't part with Kulich and Norris so you get Norris Rosen+ 2026 first
3. Sold.

These trades are pretty good. Sabres need to change their core. These trades address change while reallocating cap from areas of strength to those of need.

NYR trade bad for Buffalo
VAN trade bad for Buffalo

LAK trade is debatable. I would probably do it because Buffalo needs a top 4 RHD which Clarke will be.

Has there ever been one Sabres/ Rangers proposal that wasn’t hilariously skewed towards the Rangers in a way that would get anyone who made it irl laughed at?

I’m a Sabres fan. I think beyond picks, the value is fair. Especially if rumors are true that Peterka wants out - I don’t know if there’s a package that doesn’t include futures that’s more enticing.

Byram may have slightly more value than Schneider, but as I said, these are just the foundational pieces for the trade. Maybe NYR adds a pick - the value is closer than you think IMO.

Why would Peterka return a top six winger and a top four D man, both of who are young and just entering their prime years?
Oh sorry, a .5 per game player making 7.45m a year has more value than a .85 point per game player who is currently making 855K just entering his prime?

Good luck with that. At this point Laf probably has very little value.

I wouldn't touch Laf and want him nowhere near my team. I was just humoring the OP.

Peterka might have more value than Laf. But to suggest he’s worth both a top six winger and a top four D man is crazy.,

You should go read your own beat reporters if you are a rangers fan. I heard they offered a 1st and Schneider for Peterka. Which is more than Laf and Schneider in my opinion.

All three trades are declined by one of the parties although the LAK's one is at least the closest.
No, it isn't.

LA isn't trading Clarke. Reporters hearing rumors that Clarke's name was talked about in a potential Rantanen deal is not the same as him being "available". The offer for Clarke here wouldn't come close to meeting LA's needs.
