Confirmed with Link: [BUF/MIN] Buffalo acquires Jordan Greenway for a 2023 2nd (from VGK) and 2024 5th

Won't they actually recoup the 2nd when Johnson walks too?
The way everyone who covers the team sounds on Johnson did a 180 a couple months ago.

Probably because he watched the Sabres defense.

It has to be so much easier to deal with being traded when you’ve played for the coach before. I mean…assuming you aren’t going back to like Torts I guess. But I’m going to go out on the limb that Greenway likes Granato. … Of course Taylor Hall liked Krueger so I guess sometimes you can also be dealing with a fool.

Especially when he hears Adams say how Granato was the one pushing for the move

Not sure if it was mentioned but Greenway is from Canton NY, up near The Thousand Islands, really beautiful country. Probably not someone who is going to sulk here in the winters and want to play in California or Florida.

vanek, I believe, is the one who brought him back up on the last show. Both he and Gionta wanted him. both would have paid Mittelstadt for him, in fact

Peters and Rivet had been talking about him for months

Some of us on here have been too and I'm not a regular listener to their stuff. It was a fit. Glad it worked out, hopefully they get "The Big Rig" version of Greenway. Sounds like a trade would be good for him.

Though I do fear that he's going from being a Domino's fan to a city with a lot of very good pizza everywhere.

I was just reading the comments section of The Athletic review of the trade and Wild fans were uniformly happy that Greenway is gone. I hope Donnie can rejuvenate his career and make them eat their words.

He had a rough year. Go back to previous seasons and you will see they enjoyed him. The off-ice preparation and training stuff - and apparently a love for pizza and perhaps the night life - have come up this year as complaints. Since that's not how this team tends to roll any more, it might be good to get the wakeup call about being moved and also that there are heightened expectations out of the coach and the team leadership. There are times when guys need a change and start to treat this as a profession. This may be the wakeup call he needs to get back to the potential he's shown before.

It's about value. I don't see how this player is worth a 2nd round pick.
It's about the "TEAM". If you had to grab 23 people to start a new world, would you pick all men? (no pro-creation) or all criminals (no empathy), or all electricians (no expertise in any other field), or etc.. i hope you get the point i'm trying to make. Which is; you need a person from every field/background to make a team. Everyone (person) brings a different quality. You can't have too many Chiefs, and not enough Indians. (just my opinion)

The funny thing about value is that he went for a 1, 3, 4 and a young D less than a guy with 5 goals this year.

But what does Tampa know?
