Sure, I’m looking at the cost of the car overall from 5,000 miles to 50,000 miles…not the monthly rate.

$52.5 million over the entire prime for a guy who just turned 21 and looked like one of the best players on his team in a playoff run is a huge value surplus no matter how you slice it.

And he'll still be under 30 when his next deal is due.

He was injured for part of the season. If you watched him play, especially in the playoffs, you can see the progression. Fearless high IQ puck hound with skill and playmaking ability who is miserable to play against. Love this player.

What? The cap is rising a lot. A 7.5M aav is equivalent to like a 4M aav 10 years ago.

Either way they lost a top 4 defenseman, so not sure what your argument is? Byram is still an excellent defenseman, and nothing they got in the return replaces that.
