I see him as a potential fix to our PP and 2nd line (RW with Domia and Tatar). And his age fits our core perfectly. Same age as Drouin/Domi.

Trading significant assets to get Buch when we aren't a contender makes zero sense. We are deep in forwards.

Buchnevich is exactly the last thing we need right now.
Domi, Drouin, Tatar, Gallagher, Kotkaniemi, Danault, Byron, Shaw, Lehkonen, Armia are all better or similar players
So getting him just in the hope that he'll help the 2nd PP unit would be a dumb move imo.

Rangers have no reason to move him.
Montreal has no reason to pursue him.

So I'm left asking why ?

Buch is a good player but I don't think he can fix our horrendous powerplay.

A right handed shooting dynamo, or another player who can screen the goalie would be better avenues to pursue.

Is he better then Chaput, Agastino, Hudon, Peca? If so then why not? Why not improve our forwards and continue to look for that ever elusive no1 LHD.
