$55 million is 4.2% of the projected $1.3 billion dollar stadium.

If the Rays can structure paying the repair over 10 years, it's nominal. $5.5 million a year. That's if they don't get any insurance or tax money.

Everything will probably cost more than it's projected, but move the numbers up a bit. $6.5 million a year, etc. Basically free.
I wish I could say that.

Just get out man. Holy crap.

Demand team team play in Tropicana Field til lease expires. Refuse to fix stadium so they can play until Tropicana Field lease expires.

This is literally St. Pete politics in a nutshell

I can't believe they're gonna lose the Rays just because they're gonna play in Steinbrenner instead of that completely inferior and unusable stadium in Clearwater. Talk about petty and silly.

St Pete politics in a nutshell. Quick. Call mayor Castor and strike a deal in Tampa before it's too late. Just copy the plans of the build and build it in time for 2028 or 2029

This may be a blessing in disguise. There's absolutely nothing stopping the announcement of a stadium in Tampa this summer if everyone starts working things out after Thanksgiving. I already didn't like that they were building next to the ballpark no one visits.

Just get it done
