Post-Game Talk: Bruins @ Rangers: Game ThrLOLee

ideally, yes, but you also have to think about the caliber of player that Staal could garner.

I'd be up for a Staal/Kesler swap. Don't know if Vancouver would, probably not. Dat center depth, though...

I vote no on Kesler. Love his game but he is a player who breaks down and will cost a lot, and the Rangers have paid enough for player's resumes rather than what they will get going forward.

**** him.

I generally don't condone mindlessly bashing/calling players names, but it's Brad ****ing Richards. Guy has been a disgrace this season. "Oh, boo hoo, poor me". Sack up, bro.

Seriously. He's such an emo punk now. Sack up and play with a little ****ing gumption. His demise this season is a huge reason this team is in the shambles it is. It's put a massive strain on the entire roster and making guys slot into places they should not be slotted into. Cant wait til he's bought out. At least Gomez and Drury gave us something in their time here. Richards has given one decent year and then this. Boo hoo I cant stick it to Olivia Munn anymore, **** off.

Rant over.

He was tremendous in the playoffs. Looked healthy and back on his game. Only player on Vancouver that wasn't a black hole offensively.

He's a player that go up against and shut down players like Crosby, Malkin, Krejci, Stamkos, etc.

That being said, I see where you're coming from. Just a suggestion. Either way, I think we need another very good center.

your funny... you must be the same dr. jekyll and mr hyde who wanted to trade stepan for a bag a pucks the first week of the season... this is the stupidity that bothers me on here.. its one thing to give your points and opinions, but to declare losses based on the lines players are playing on are a joke.. stepan is a stud.. and is fine.. hes clearly 1c/2c at worst in this league and im not even basing it off this yr.. hes very consistent, is 22yrs old and will figure it out with time..

you want to pick on someone pick on torts and richards...

12m richards is getting paid and played 1-2 shifts in the 3rd period.. thats not ok when hes expected to be your go to, mr clutch, being a leader and stepping up in all aspects of the game.. hes the issue.. not stepan hags and cally when they sustained the best pressure in this series...

you really, REALLY need to work on your reading comprehension.

I'm not saying Stepan is a 3rd line player, I'm saying, you want that to be your 3rd line.

There's a difference.

if that's your 3rd line, that's the best 3rd line in the NHL.

What else are they trading to fix the offense?

Air?

The Rangers have a surplus of defenseman. They can afford to move one of them out to improve the offense.

You think another trade would solve the offensive woes? Gotta a beach front property for sale in Tempe Arizona for you.
How about fixing the offense? get bodies up front, crowd the opposing goalie, fix the pp.

I think DZ would flourish under another coach that he's not playing tentative and told to wheel like the offensive defenseman he is.

This was a horrible effort tonight outside of Lundqvist. After that first period I was smelling the loss already.

I'm so tired of the collapsing and hang back style it's maddening. We're better than what we're showing and it appears most are not playing with heart. Those that do, aren't doing it every night. I still stick to my guns that if adjustments can be made on how to play - we're right there with Boston.

Panger nailed it on the head tonight with his analysis.

I think we have a roster that would excel under quicker transition and more pressure on the rush. That's on Torts, whatever happened to you and your safe is death moto?

I can't help but think, and this goes back to the Washington series - it seems they're tuning Torts out most of the time.

Its the Bruins physicality and our lack of forechecking.

I remember watching game 7 against the caps thinking about how it was going to be against the Leafs.

Lol still remember that choke

So? Regular season stats mean nothing in the playoffs, especially considering Toronto added some significant pieces to their roster between 2012 and the start of the season.

Eh, they're a counterattack team that got outshot by an obscene margin in the regular season. The fact that they should have beaten Boston shows that Boston isn't anything special.

even right now, you'd love to have your top 2 lines being some combination of...Richards, Clowe, Nash, Brassard, MZA, Kreider or Boyle on the wing....you'd be fine....if those guys were playing up to their level of career play.

Richards abhorrent play has screwed up so much with the lines its not even funny.

Well, yeah. That too. But I'm not suggesting a "one trade fix all" solution. I'm suggesting a straight-up hockey trade that helps both trams.

You can't just harbor players in one area and shift around the other. We had a below average offense and an elite defense. With an elite goaltender in the nets, to boot.

Trading one of Del Zotto/Girardi/Staal for a first line forward won't kill the defense.

My friend who works for the Rangers had this to say on Facebook...

Matt ******
In all my weeks in this business that was the most somber dressing room I've ever been in. Boyle was livid with himself. Tough loss.

But-but the players don't care.

I think it shows that Toronto is an elite offensive team with a ton of speed. One that is also excellent on special teams. And has a good goalie. Their defensive corp is their downfall, but it's fixable.

Those teams go far. I think Toronto would have gotten through us had they advanced to second round, their special teams would give us fits.

Don't know if anyone else mentioned it, but that's our first regulation loss when leading headed into the third in like 3 years.

And someone correct me if I'm wrong but last time we led going into 3rd and lost in regulation was to Bruins.

Its true, I mean Richards is a freaking 4th liner now

That's funny. You also want either of the top 2 lines of the Pens to be your first line. You want the best 3rd line in the NHL? I also want the best 1st, 2nd, and 4th line. In addition, the best 1st, 2nd, and 3rd D-pairing. I also want a mix of Dominik Hasek, Patrick Roy, and Martin Brodeur in net.

Not enough is said about Tortorella's coaching style, as inept as is it, being a hindrance on our young player's development. I just can't help but think how much better kids like Kreider, Dz, Miller, Mcdonagh and even Stepan would be playing for a coach that can utilize their talents and skills to their full potential.

the boston bruins dont have the best first or 2nd line in the nhl.

what they do have are 3 lines that are really really good, and they can roll them.

you KNOW that's what I was hinting towards...no need to be snarky just for snarky sake.

Don't downplay their 4th line. They're also pretty good.
