Interesting that he got through Freshman year

It is, and I know from being on the other side of it that athletes generally get a lot more consideration and assistance than your average tuition paying student. He must have really just not been interested in doing anything academic by sophomore year.

They also played 14 games at a very high level in the Prep Hockey Conference and he lead everyone in points with 25. Teams included
They played Junior B teams from the GOJHL and won all 9 games, my kids High School would have been thrashed by these teams. This was an elite program that played likewise teams
2023-24 Hockey Schedule - St. Andrew's College
I sure hope Dean pans out.
His stats at AAA for a 15/16 YO are not impressive either, averaging a point a game.
The best 17 YO players in Ontario are playing in the OHL, which is considered one of the top junior leagues in North America.
It would have been nice to see Dean play a year in the USHL as a 17 YO, so we could have a better benchmark vs playing high school hockey.
I completely understand why Dean wanted to take the " educational" route and by passed the OHL.
Too many athletes have no degree to use once they retire from playing professional sports.
With 2 points in 24 games this year, guess there is no place to go but up?
