What a great player and classy gentleman. I will miss seeing him honored at Bruins games. Was always amazed at how good he looked into his 90s. RIP

98...we should all be so lucky.

I know people like to say Taz or Bourque are the ultimate Bruins, but IMO it is easily Milt Schmidt. Guy spent 80 odd years as part of this organization, aside from that brief stint in DC and his duty in WWII. He did literally everything for this team aside from own it himself.

I think the Bruins need to honor him beyond just his number in the rafters. Name something after him, maybe rename the 7th player award, or something like that. He more than anyone deserves that.

May he rest in peace.

On behalf of Habs fans, who know all too well how it feels when our heroes pass, may he rest in peace.

Not only a great Bruin, but a giant amongst men who left the game to serve in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII.

Please see this story. Yes, there is rivalry between the Habs/Bruins, but also honour and respect that cannot be matched:

Sleep well sir!

From a lifelong Montreal Canadiens fan

Thank you.

Not even embarrassed to say I'm in tears watching this great video of such a legendary man. Not even that sad that he passed, the man took full advantage of life and lived one that every person on earth would be envious of. I'm more sad just to see a person of his quality pass on. They just dont make them like that anymore, that to me is the sad thing.

A truly sad day for Bruins fans. We all thought the world of him. I had hoped he'd make it to 100.

RIP Milt.

I had hope Milt would make it to 100 too. It is a sad day for Bruin's fans.

Seeing him at the Garden always made me (and all B's fans) smile.

You will be missed good sir.:(
