So sad to hear this..

He was easily one of the greatest ambassadors the Bruins and the game have ever had...

Won in pretty much every level he did..

Guy literally bled Black and Gold..was a true Bruin till the day he died. When they called him at the outdoor game I was sad he wasn't there but knew his condition. Such a shame...

Certainly a Bruin who will never be forgotten. His dedication to this franchise will never be matched.

Really would of wished to see him hit 100.

R.I.P Milt. You truly were one of the greatest. Was such a treat to have you part of this franchise for so many years. You can rest easy now.

The ultimate Boston Bruin. And he decided to leave in the prime of his career to fight in WWII. What an incredible man and incredible life. I always loved when he would make an appearance at games.

RIP Milt

Absolutely crushed to hear of his passing.

The man was a great ambassador to the game and from all accounts, a great teammate, a great coach, and an even better person.

Rest in peace Mr. Schmidt.

What a life.

I can't be too sad about a guy who lived to 98 in perfect health for almost all of it. He served his country and lived out his boyhood (and adult) dreams. Guy had the kind of life that anyone would be envious of.

On behalf of Habs fans, who know all too well how it feels when our heroes pass, may he rest in peace.

Not only a great Bruin, but a giant amongst men who left the game to serve in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII.

Please see this story. Yes, there is rivalry between the Habs/Bruins, but also honour and respect that cannot be matched:

I never him play ( I'm not THAT old ) but he was coaching the B's when I went to my first game.

:cry::cry::cry:

Jeremy Jacobs made sure Milt was on the payroll for life after he left the Bruins briefly to be the first GM of Washington. Weston Adams, Jr forced Milt out after the 1972 season so he could hire Harry as GM. Milt won 2 Stanley Cups as a GM - Harry 0.

RIP UNCLE MILTY

At 64 years of age (me) Milt seems to always have been a part of my Bruins' life.

He lived a long and (it seems) fairly healthy life.

I will miss your visits to the Boston Garden.

Thank you for being such a good man and player. RIP you will be missed my many.
