This isn't a coaching problem, it's the way the team is constructed. Time has finally caught up to Marchand, Pastrnak needs a real center because Lindholm we all knew is on the downswing of his career and Swayman is just an average goalie who was a product of a good system. There might be a brief turnaround but this Bruins team needs to be rebuilt.

The Bruins despite somehow being in a WC position have a worse goal differential than the Habs. Regardless of who's fault that is a change had to be made and the coach is usually the one that falls on that sword.

Sacco is brutal, so hopefully some of these other underperformers(*cough* Pittsburgh) fire a coach soon too. Or maybe they think Gallant is the answer. Doubt it's Quenneville.
Bruins have bottom feeder talent. No coach is going to do much better.

Makes sense for Monty to be the scapegoat here.
Teams issues are far deeper than him.
Can’t see Sacco getting much more out of this mid team.

Team needed a jolt tho, not sure this was the best option but def the easiest

Didn't deserve to be fired, he will get another job very soon and it will start the coaching changes around the league

Cassidy to Montgomery looks to have been a huge downgrade.
Montgomery to Sacco is even worst lol 😂 hope something has changed for him but the last time around for the avalanche was terrible and that’s being nice about it, they were an ok team but that guy was a train reck.

I guess after 100++ point seasons back-to-back, Monty just forgot how to coach. Damn, what a shame.

Expectations were high after Sweeney's masterful offseason additions of Lindholm, Zadorov, and dithering around with Swayman.

Gallant got fired after 100+ point seasons back to back. No 130+ seasons though.

Liked Don Sweeney as a bruin defensemen, but what has he actually done to deserve staying GM for as long as he has?
A SCF and the best season in NHL history to start?

The team he built in 2023 should have won the Cup.

Montgomery absolutely blew it. He was always going to be on a tight leash after that, especially when he followed that up with a near collapse against the Leafs of all teams.

This is denial copium. Denial that they are a bang average team at best now , and shouldn't expect more than average results .

They really seemed to think that Lindholm/Zadorov was going to just lift them out of it.
They were 4th in the league last year with an improved roster on paper

Sacco is such a bad choice though

Well, if he lost the room and the players don’t play hard for him anymore then you have to let him go. His record is irrelevant.

As much as I wanted it to work out with Monty, that's fair. But the Sacco piece is the part that's particularly bad to me. Hoping it truly is just an interim (and short) tag.

Honestly, Sweeney & especially Neely need to go. Neely is the hugest little fanboy ever and that kind of emotion rarely works when faced with big decisions.

Monty wasnt the problem. Sacco has been behind the Bruins bench as an assistant coach for 10yrs, so the "new voice" theory is out the window.

Team quit on Bruce because he was to hard on players. Monty was the opposite and they quit on him after 2 years.....this is a player problem.
