Other way around. The Leafs have relied much less on the gimmicks (3-on-3 and shootout) than other teams to get to where they are in the standings. "Loser points" are what teams would have taken away in the old NHL, which featured ties.

How does this make sense? They are an awful 3rd period team who gave up a ton of leads. Better of late, but still.....they are loser points.

Chicago just clinched the #1 seed in the West - so maybe they party tonight

Yup they have absolutely nothing to play for it's an 1130am game for them against a Eastern Conference team I can't see them caring about this game at all

Holy flirting with danger Batman! Think about the many games that they dominated teams and came away with a loss. Today was just an evening it out game. Picked a hell of a time to rely on that mind you.

Bergy's line remains the most dangerous especially when Pasta joins them. Moore and company are now playing as the the most effective. BruinDust got Accaria going on the scoreboard. With that level of effectiveness need to ask him to work on Belesky now.

Continue to scratch my head with the enigma that is David Kjecki. Despite the gift of a goal his decesion making has been so poor for so long. His mistakes seem to lead to scoring chances at the other end. Defensively he has withered away. Just don't get the drop off for a super talented guy who has been such a big part of past success. Maybe he'll pull a 360 when the PO start. They need him.

The banker is happy for another 2 point deposit. With four games remaining to play, one win could do it. Two wins should do it. Three wins would do it. I'll take door number 3 please.

Good post.

Certainly was a poor performance in a must win game by the B's. Two gifts in the second period as the Bergeron goal should not have stood.

Yes, Krejci was particularly poor today. But considering his recent problems with wide open nets, I was very happy that he hit this one.

Thought the Miller pair were luck to escape without being scored on.

Tuukka came up big.

Krug is looking worn out (or hurt).

Fluto just tweeted that the Bruins are calling up a forward from Providence... Really hope they call up Debrusk, I haven't really seen him play yet. Can't be worse than Hayes.

Nice touch that Thornton gets 3rd star

Sugar deserves the first star for two reasons:

1) Cuts for Cause another big success this year. Thanks Shawn.

2) His comments on Emeln had Habs fans out in force on thread on main boards. Quite literally gave me hours of entertainment. Thanks Shawn!!!!!

I feel like hes the only optiob right now. Cehlarik is injured, Vatrano is injured, Czarnik is a natural C, DeBrusk has made strides all season and is on a bit of a production streak, why not bring him up? Give him a look. They could always turn to Heinen but I doubt that. Kuraly maybe?

I only saw the last 5 minutes as I had to put one of my cats down today.

Rask kept it at 3-2 - Thanks Tuukka :handclap::handclap:

On to Chicago and pray

Sorry about that!!! That hurts.

My Lucky --- loyal friend for 14+ years -- is struggling. Steeling myself for what my heart knows is coming soon. Best dog we've ever had. A true buddy!

Be nice to yourself!!!

I wouldn't say we were dominated either. Both teams sucked, Bruins in the third period, Panthers the rest of the game. Lucky Krejci got a gimme goal, but Vanek's was a fluke (even though the giveaways at times were dreadful) and the penalties (one of which Jagr scored on) were horrid. Scoring chances were 13-6 in favour of the Bruins going into the third. I'm sure it almost evened out in the third, but the goalie is part of the team too, and Rask should win a goaltending duel on even terms against Reto Berra 95 times out of 100.

Sorry for your loss! :(
One of ours, a three year old, is battling renal failure right now. Can't imagine having to put him down, although I've gone through it before (albeit with a much older cat).

AW...so sorry Kevin:(

Tuukka was excellent.

Love that they gave Shawn 3d star of the game. HIs last game at the Garden and I was afraid that the fans wouldn't get a chance to guv him a big cheer. He is a cool dude.

On to Chicago.

Awwww mannnn ;)

Let's start calling the Nash/Moore/Acciari line the 3rd line because that's what they are.

Acciari has been awesome since regaining some of his scoring touch down in providence. Perfect 4th liner

Noel got checked in to the boards and his neck was hurting him. They were checking him on the bench as he was in some pain. I thought the hit was dirty.

I was happy Noel was ok.

Must have been the Petrovic push from behind, he went forehead first into the dasher right next to the bench.

I missed that, I'm glad it seems more hurt than injured

I wonder if we finally see debrusk up in Hayes spot

I'm glad Shawn will be back in the community when he retires. Not that he ever really left it. Just here more.
