They gave us a 2nd with him, still cant get over that

Too bad Gorton pissed that away on Smith

At the time it wasn't an easy trade to make. Zibanejad was talented but had not realized his potential. Brassard played his best hockey with us, was a playoff performer and the fans loved him. It has turned out to be one of the best trades we have made in a long time.

So funny seeing Milbury twitching and vibrating. He can barely contain the polar extremes of his love for the Bruins and hatred of the Rangers.

So it’s not too much of a stretch, right? In my opinion, we’ve had an unusual amount of bad calls against us this year. Definitely higher than usual, and I think most of us have noticed that even before the article was written. But I don’t know. Maybe it’s confirmation bias. And maybe that has nothing to do with him, but who knows?
Pretty sure that every team feels the same way about the refs when bad calls are made against them. I can't see a conspiracy theory here.

Literally unprecedented. Kreids getting there, but he was ours when he was just a goalie crusher and occasional enforcer.

Brassard comes to mind as a talented guy that hadn't put it together elsewhere and did here. But I'm definitely not used to it.

I've liked his overall game this past while
Mhm. I think the success of this rebuild depends a lot on Skjei. Is he going to be closer to a McDonagh-type defenseman for us, or closer to a typical #4/5 defenseman? And right now, I like it. I’m a big fan of Skjei, and was in love with him after his rookie season. Let’s hope he can at least repeat it.

It doesn't.

Exactly. His rookie year reminded me of McDonagh-lite. I'll settle for McDonagh-lite from him.

Same here. That would be amazing. It’s just that Skjei’s offensive upside is a little bit smaller than I would like. But that’s alright. If he can put up 25-35 point seasons consistently while playing responsible defense, we’re golden.

I’m pretty sure both you and I foresaw this with Mika when we got him. Frankly, I just want another high end center to slot in behind Zibanejad. Kreider, Chytil and Kravtsov are perfect wingers to fill out the top six. If Gorton wants to speed up the rebuild, he needs to trade for young top end Dmen ready to step into the lineup.

Watching those Ottawa lowlights, we're not getting anywhere near the 1st pick.
