The Sabres must have made it known he was available trade deadline. Crazy he wasn’t picked up by another team. I was impressed.
It is only one game but I'm trying to figure out why Buffalo fans wanted him gone? Keep in mind he also played pretty good for team Finland. Just another guy who sucked on purpose to get out of Buffalo?

It's early, but right now he's looking like a Krug or Gryz replacement. Maybe better.
I'll be happy if he pushes Peeke to perm 3RD.

So many players seem to excel upon leaving Buffalo, even though its happened over multiple coaching staffs.

Thread gives me flashbacks of the Peeke one. I'm surprised some people were upset by a 4th for him, think it's worth the risk, being razor thin on RD, to see if he can carve out a role here.
Before there was Peeke (already under contract) there was Mike Reilly who Sweeney immediately made into a disaster contract extension. We will see how this one works out.

Looks steady so far. It’s only 2 games though. Needs to marinate more. He may also want to go to a contender as a FA after being stuck in Buf for so long

After 2 games, the pair of Zadorov-Jokiharju has a 40-20 shot attempt advantage, 17-7 shots on goal advantage, and a 22-7 scoring chance advantage.

It's just two games, but it is against two of the best teams and two of the best lines in the NHL.
I think the key that would make Joker worth it is he elevates Zadorov. Which up to this point, no other defenseman on this team has been able to do.

They really don’t have much RHD in the pipeline and it’s working. I would sign him if this continues.

Oh god yeah, and so far (small sample size) seemingly better than McAvoy at keeping the puck inside the attacking zone. That’s one McAvoy deficiency that really gets to me.
Speaking of McAvoy ,I know he shoots right,Lohrei left ,but I sure hope Lohrei keeps playing big mins ..He has definitely turned a corner .I like what I have been seeing from Joki 👍
