But math says they can't afford him most likely

What are you tihnking he asks for? He's at $3.1m and spent the season with Buffalo and hasn't had a great year. Is he likely to want a whole lot more than that? But it's one game, anyway. Yesterday was a good start but I'd like to see how he goes the rest of the way and so would the Bruins I imagine. If he works out and wants somewhere in the $3.5 range, that's not a problem.

Thread gives me flashbacks of the Peeke one. I'm surprised some people were upset by a 4th for him, think it's worth the risk, being razor thin on RD, to see if he can carve out a role
The Sabres must have made it known he was available trade deadline. Crazy he wasn’t picked up by another team. I was impressed.

If it's open bidding to the whole league

Peeke was signed for a few years, I'm just not sure the value in trading for a few weeks of a guy in a season that's going nowhere.

If he plays well he upped his value across the league for UFA summer. If he plays poorly you wouldn't want him back anyway.

We'll see how it pans out. I think he's a pretty vanilla dman but maybe he finds good chemistry here with the D pairings and develops into a dependable guy for the bottom two pairings. I didn't mind his first game here but I want to see more.

Any reason he'd sign here rather than go to market?

He sounded happy in his interview when he got the news he was going to Boston

I think (and hope) he signs here

He looked great yesterday even though he was thrown right into the fire along with the other new players
