Team USA doesn't have their typical speed today. Short turnaround after losing yesterday probably a factor in that. Poor goaltending and some tired legs will make it really hard to come back

For sure, imo they should have had a day off inbetween to make sure all the teams are fresh.

I thought they played great to start off the game, seemed to me Russia was the team trying to get their legs. Kinkaid needed to make a couple of saves and it would be 0-0 or at worst 0-1.

Nelson and Larkin were the best USA players.

Russia as always are very opportunistic. Thought their D men led by Orlov and Voynov stood out.

Not liking this officiating so far. First penalty to Russia was because after the guy shot the puck Wideman grabbed onto his stick, when he was skating away it came up into Wideman's dumb face. Then they call interference for a guy finishing his check on a player who just played the puck off the boards out of the zone. Elbow was in, forearm was high chest. He just pasted him too hard I guess.

Oh well, Russia's still up 2-0. USA needs to get their **** together or they're going home without a medal. Tired or not, this is your last game of hockey for months so there's no excuse to not give it your best. Kinkaid might as well be a shooter tutor.

CHUD elevated before the hit to make the principal point of contact Compher's face. Probably should have been 2+10 esp in IIHF. I mean, if elbow is tucked but you jump so it's at nose level, it's not a clean hit.

This one is ramping up... first the Orlov hit, then McCabe shows a little truculence, then this one. Usually in a bronze game a team in the USA position would lay down. But that's not the American way...

Tut tut...it was in the OG Bronze game...totally mailed it in

Geez Luise ...u can't legally put ur arm up that high and make contact/target head

Arm that high? His elbow was against his side. His shoulder was not up.

It's not his fault that the American decided to duck right before the hit. The heck?

With VPN, the official IIHF stream is incredible. Good commentary, no ads. Rather watch it here than on TV, to be honest.

Worst period by Matthews of this tournament I felt, puck fumbled far too much. At least he was still sound defensively.

Arm up, Forearm ( principle point of contact ) made contact with the head...CLEAR AS DAY!

Forearm was not up, it was at 90 degrees. If a forearm makes contact with a head, the head is LOW. Even if my elbow touches my side and my forearm is pointing DIRECTLY UP, it's at my SHOULDER height.

Telegin is skating pretty hard for a guy who had his legs amputated yesterday.

He was diving yesterday, got no whistle, tried to sell it, got no whistle, tried to sell it hard, got no whistle, tried to sell it REALLY hard...and left the game uninjured.
Of course you get the doctors to back you up at first, but today is a new day.

What a disgrace.

So u normally carry ur arm at 90 degrees do u?....Geez Luise it must get tiring

Not sure how you could blame Kinkaid for the second goal. I didn't see the first goal so it's possible that it was a bad goal.

Hip contact my butt...But even if ur claim had merit ( it doesn't! ) by IIHF rules there are no legal hits to the head
IIHF rules also clearly state the circumstances, under which the penalty would be called. As I've already pointed out, none of them met the reality, so the check shouldn't have been penalized.

That's one of the more obvious examples of goalie interference I've ever seen.
