I think Boeser problem is he just so slow that he needs to be perfect defensively to be an average defender and right now he is a below average defender to start out with and can't cover enough ground to make up for his errors. Its the same thing for his Rush offense and goal scoring. He isnt fast enough to get where he needs to be and he shot doesnt have a fast enough release to be able to make up for him being slow to get into the open spots

Everybody always talks about the 'albatross contracts' for the likes of OEL and Myers.....but nobody talks about Boeser who's in year one of a three-year contract at $6.65m per season. Let's face it, they aren't getting nearly enough for that investment. And in the skating department, it looks to me like the league has passed him by.

At his current production, Boeser is pretty much 'untradeable' unless the Canucks were take back money or another bad contract. Still struggling to understand why the Canucks re-upped both Boeser and Miller.

Should have traded them both before their contracts ran out.

I think of his scoring as a positive.

Some GM’s would still see value by raw scoring totals. Probably not much.
But the scoring totals only help us out.

Even though I think Boeser has been very ineffective this season for large chunks.

Say what you want about how he's playing, but he has 13 points in 14 games. Production isn't the issue, even if you'd like to see more goals.

I think it was the Vancast this week that was talking about his issues. What they said makes sense to me in what Brocks biggest issue is and it will probably plague him for the rest of his career. It basically said Brock normally makes up for his utter lack of speed by instincts, and as he plays better defensively it gives him confidence offensively. When playing confidently he reads the play well and makes up the difference he lacks in speed.

The problem is as he has been oft injured especially when the season starts, he is always playing catch up on these aspects, and circularly he never catches up.

Thought it was interesting and makes sense.

What do you mean nobody talks about it?

HFBoard Canucks is like one big Boeser lynch mob.

The rest. Yes I agree. I dont worry about his goal scoring, it will come. But his defensive play has fallen off a cliff this year.

I'm already preparing my serving of crow to eat;

But to the most vocal Boeser detractors. Tell me you saw what I saw last game?

He was effective, he was winning board battles, he was responsible in the dZone. Right?

You saw the difference between his play. Right?

Last night was Boeser's best game of the season. He's not out of the woods yet until he strings a few of those together. He should have potted the winner in the 3rd period but just missed.

Yeah.

Im not holding my breath.

Suprised that it seems that his poor start might be mostly mental...

Edit. Scratch that. Obviously hand surgery and conditioninh play a big part.

Without any retention and no salary coming back... They'll be lucky to get a 5th.

If they take back some salary though, they might get a 2nd for him, depending on what kind of salary they rake back.
15 points in 19 games though he is a minus 12 apparently one person thinks he's only worth a 5th rounder.

I think that's wack

He needs 2 - 3 months of playing like he did against Arizona. And lets remember that was the lowly Arizona.

But it will take months for him to regain his value and even then he is known to be injured every seasons.

I think he can do it but it sure isnt trending that way.

the 'trade request' kind of bothers me because this is the first sign of pushback the organization has given to brock and he's decided to deal with it like this.

Boeser's 'scratch' and then 'reinstatement' for the Coyotes game is trending out there, with a lot of media sites speculating that this latest imbroglio involving Boeser will hasten his exit out of VanCity.

Boudreau was quoted as saying, 'he had no idea that Saturday was 'Hockey Fights Cancer' night. And I tend to believe him. But it's not a great look for the Canucks nevertheless.

Just the latest installment in 'Team Turmoil'. Do the Canucks ever get anything right? I suspect Boeser won't the first guy to say to his agent 'get me outta here'!
