His endurance. Seriously.....if you iso watch him his endurance is trash. He needs to lose some muscle mass me thinks....he's so big and strong it looks like it's affecting his endurance big time.
Muscle mass will improve endurance lol. It's his conditioning that sucks because he barely played in Winnipeg.

Muscle mass improves endurance? Have you seen marathon runners? Do they all look like big huge muscle guys or lean thin and wiry?

Come on man.

It’s not black and white. Boxing and karate require enormous endurance, yet the build of a karateka differs enormously from that of a professional boxer. You can build a LOT of muscle and endurance from proper weight training. Think battle ropes and slams, for example.

Of course you need some muscle mass it's obvious but a guy like lemieux is clearly too big for his frame to take reasonable shift length and give it his all. There's diminishing returns after a while. He needs to get leaner.

Muscle mass or endurance?

He’s 6”1 and 210lbs. Hossa was 6”1 and 205lbs. Keith Tkachuk was 6”2 and over 230lbs. The guy just needs to focus more on his cardio.

Likely just needs more reps and to condition himself over an offseason expecting to play big minutes. Might lose a little extra weight and also just cater his training to a different style of play. Id imagine you don't train the same to play 5 minutes a night and fight than you do play middle 6 minutes and put up points.

Kid knows he's got a very good chance to be playing on the 2nd or 3rd line next season, his first true NHL opportunity playing real minutes going into a season, I have to imagine he will be in the best shape of his life come training camp.

Kid just needs more time on the Peloton. Prentiss will get him where he needs to be.

Prentiss laughs at Peloton.

Peloton is for the masses. Expect Prentiss to put him on Ivan Drago-type training machinery.
