His endurance is atrocious. It's probably sue so his body type. When he gives it 100% he's aweslme. .but he takes a ton of shifts off. Needs to work on that big time.
Gotta give him a little slack. Has nothing to do with his body but lack of usage.

A lot of you should be embarassed with yourselves. Probably the same people who said Hayes was terrible and a waste early in career. If they arent a star their first season they are a bust.

I know it may be a crazy thought, but sometimes it takes time for players to develop into good NHL players.
Players we like: Not eligible for any criticism.

Players we don't like: Not eligible for any praise.

What a great system!

No one said Lemieux couldn't develop into a good NHL player, or even that he currently isn't one.

Everyone and their dog said Hayes needed to make quicker decisions with the puck early on and it took a few years of work but he figured it out. No one said he's a waste, that would be nuts as we didn't even waste a draft pick on him.

Same for Lemieux. There's an excellent foundation and he looks like he could develop into an excellent core piece (already like him more than Vesey but that's not saying too much), that said there's also what to be critical of and for him to work on, no need to get sensitive and defensive over it.

I do remember lots of people writing off Hayes pretty quickly after his second season.
True, but his points took a significant drop from his rookie season (9 points, so 20% less) and he looked a bit lost as well so I'm not gonna rip the ppl who lost patience after season 2 even though it was clearly premature.

I remember often saying Hayes had 2nd line center potential.

Then again I liked Dawes, Clendening, and a long list of other questionable players too. To be fair to myself that was in comparison to things like Rissmiller or similar.

I guess I like to give the benefit of the doubt to the younger player until he pretty much proves otherwise as the alternative is to give that same benefit to the Isbister, Halpern, Powe, Stoll etc of the league.

Lemieux I think has done well, I like his game better than Glass, Asham, Rupp, Brashear, etc already.

I also like Lowry who is still with the Jets, Hyman on the Leafs, and am hoping if this all comes together Lemieux is sort of the Rangers version of them.

I agree with what.George said he spent so many nights scratched plus we could say a lot of these guys take plays off at this.point, that's what happenings you sell a couple major assets and out of the playoffs. Since hes.arrived every game I've watched he's been involved mixing it up, I'm sure his endurance will improve over the summer and camp knowing he's going into the season basically locked in at bottom 6 wing.

Not exactly setting a high bar here.

I mentioned Lowry and Hyman after that, slightly different players to him yet I think his effect could be similar if he ends up good enough to play in a similar role as those guys do.
