What is NYR looking for? Would 16th overall get the discussion started.

Flames need a D prospect and I think he fits the current system really well. I’ve heard there is no room for Brayden in NY.
If I’m the rangers, I’d say no. But if the Flames added Coronato… then I’m listening.

A trade they’d have to win go make. They being the Rangers.

RD is probably the position of least need on the entire Flames roster, so we wouldn't be willing to give up much for one. This trade idea is just an awful fit.

general rule of trading is in one way, shape or form, at some point, profit must outweigh the cost.

We like Trouba but unless we get bread to waive early and can repurpose most of his 11+m, we will need to deal Trouba, about 2m retained for 6m cap relief as soon as possible. We were fortunate Chytil extended upwards of a mil better than best case scenario, but now coming up we need $$$$ for KAM, and that is to extend, not bridge, which will cost mo in the long run.

Translation: at present, all signs make it impossible to even consider moving Schneider, not that we want to, b'c he replaces Trouba the second he's dealt.

Also, to answer your question, in a vacuum I think he should get more than 16OA even as a starting point.
Consider Nils L pick is closer to that range and we value BS slightly higher.
Doesn’t he have a full NMC? I’m just curious where he’d accept a deal to.

I agree as our roster is currently constructed.

However, this would be a rebuild scenario where the Flames trade two of Rasmus/Weegar\Tanev

If there is a C on the board (Leonard/Dvorsky/Moore/Leonard/Yager) then that’s who I want. If not I could see NYR having interest in a Barlow, Cristall or Wood. But I guess I was wrong about that.

go to CF, hover over NMC designation, and it says in that yr player submits 15 team no trade list, following season, must submit 12 teams list he can not go to.

Specific teams not identified.

Yes he currently does for this season and next.

So essentially the earliest he can be moved is at the start of the 24-25 season. Not sure that helps you guys in the short-term with cap space particularly when it comes to Miller who's an upcoming RFA.

Yes we are on the same page as to reading the facts.
If he doesn't elect to go say late next season, we can't do anything until officially after that.

It does not help esp since KAM must be extended not bridged to avoid larger cap complications around the corner.
Thus dealing cost controlled Schneider forgetting any other aspect of the equation, makes no sense for NY.

Howev, when someone volunteered Ras Andy at half, I countered with a partial premise where:
Lindgren = 3 thru next season + will get raise + = quality til he breaks down in 4-5 years
as a viable character fit on LD and you have enuf RD depth to make that work

Howev, NY can't lose Lindy at 3 and replace at 2.25, not enuf cap coming back.
NY needs to move a salary for draft picks

A package w/LaF is one possibility for that component

Hence something
