Confirmed with Link: Brandon Kozun traded to Toronto Maple Leafs (for Andrew Crescenzi)

Crescenzi is a checking centre; big, good skater, willing to play with an edge.

I could see him being able to play a 4th line role for someone like Kings down the road who have the system/structure for him to succeed.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dean promised Brandon to trade him if he didn't get his chance/make it with the Kings as he was considering signing overseas.

1. Believe me, I'm exaggerating most of it. :naughty:
2. By default, I'd rather take a chance on Gagne, until 2016. He still has half-full tank left for the time period and can mentor younger LWs. If not Gagne, then how about Umberger?

Otherwise, trade off the surpluses and expiring contracts for a Left Wing that shoots left, much less any LW that has chemistry with LW/Richards/Carter and the soon to be LW/Cresenzi/Frattin lines. Once the Kings acquire that LW that shoots left that gels easily, the Kings will three-peat; they have the cards on hand.

Willie Mitchell is an expiring contract, according to Capgeek. 3.5M and an expiring contract to a team that's weak on the blue line? Jeff Schultz is a fellow impending UFA at 700K. (I'm looking at you, Oilers.) Vey? Last I heard, front office is rather low on him.

Heck, I'd even take a risk on Gašper Kopitar, even if he's right-handed. Yes, we're that lacking on LW.

Any chance he get converted to lw? Looking at you cns for where you think he fits in jr kings. Also anyone think he maybe a part of a deal with the flames? He was signed by Burke. Just a few things to think about.
 
So happy for Kozun . go get em kid .....this is a huge opportunity for him.

One of THE nicest people. So friendly. Every time we talked, had a huge smile on his face. Understood that this was a business very much so. Again, just such a nice guy. And a great player. I think he'll do well once given his shot.

Good move. Wasn't going to make it here, bringing in a guy who fits the system for him. Always liked Kozun but the size was a killer, hate to say it.

Why do we want to continue to help out other systems? Kozun will not make the Kings but he can make a team like Tor. Why are we giving him away? That's what this is. the Kings are giving him away. No more system players. They are redundant. He should have been traded for a draft pick.
 
I was going to post a scouting report on Kozy to the Leafs board but they keep up with their scum reputation and LOL HIS HEIGHT posts and not even knowing who he was, despite repping their team at the WJCs. **** em. Just think he's a scrub with no NHL chance. Your prerogative.

As you follow the ahl alot closer then the rest of the board combined what do u think of Andrew Crescenzi ? Can he play lw ?
 
Saw some solid posts there too, CNS. Genuine interest in his addition. I would encourage you to post that scouting report, especially since it's from someone who has seen many Monarchs games this season.

ETA: Had to laugh at that one, OnlyaLad.

Haven't seen him live this year but I know OF him just because I follow prospects extremely closely. If he makes it, it'll be as a 4th line center with likely less offensive upside than Fraser. Yep. Get excited.

Saw Crescenzi when the Marlies came to Hamilton earlier this season. Didn't notice him much but it was not hard to notice his size and he seemed to skate decently for a big body. Hard to judge from one live game but that's my two cents.

I was paying more attention to some of their other players.
