He only had 59 shifts start in the OZone all season. Corsi is not the right stat to use when evaluating either - that's just percentage of shot attempts. You had a change in philosophy from Cassidy (high shot volume strategy) to Montgomery (lower shot volume, higher quality) so you're mixing metaphors when you include that timeframe.

The whole league is shallow at RD. Bruins with their three are far from shallow (assuming a return to normal quality of play by the entire team of course).

I mean even if we limit it to the Monty era, the stats don't really change in that Bergeron drove Carlo's possession rates massively. I don't know how we can all spend 20 years pumping Bergeron's tires and then pretend it doesn't matter. He covered a lot of weaknesses.

But yeah, as I said, possession isn't really the right way to judge Carlo. That ain't his job. Problem is that it's a team with too many guys whose job isn't to drive possession.

Well this whole thing started about Carlo’s deployment. Carlo gets buried more than any defenseman in the entire league. Kesselring has not shown anything close to being the kind of defenseman who can handle that level
Of deployment. Again, regardless of who his father is.
This is rich coming from the guy who said he wouldn't trade Lohrei for Chychrun straight up and told me Lohrei was in the same area code as Faber.

What do you mean by, back to forward?

When was Lohrei a forward?
Up until 17 I believe

He switched to D when he was 14. He's not going back to forward lol.
Lohrei was still a forward, a position he would play until he was 16 and there were multiple injured defensemen on his team at Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana, where had chosen to go as a 15-year-old.

It was actually 15. So 8 years ago. 8 years as a forward takes him back to cross ice Mites.

So yeah, he's not going to switch back to a forward.

I know this isn't the actual topic, but what the f*** are "cross ice Mites?" And why would a 15-year-old be in a Mites level?
Half ice? 8 years as a forward brings him back to 7 years old. Where he was playing half ice (cross ice in many places especially the Midwest) Mites.
