I sit and watch him in second periods, so close I can tell you all of his facial defects. He in many cases will sail it up the boards or stand facing the boards until the opposing team takes it from his skates.

I know many of you just love the guy regardless, he's a great kid but he's constantly losing battles that a guy of his size should not be losing.

His strength is keeping the playing in front of him using his best asset his reach and not getting physically involved. Call it fear or soft its just not what I would expect from the biggest guy on the ice on most occasions. Can count on one hand during a season when he's knocking someone down in front of his goalie.

Unfortunately he's more often on HIS ass in front of his net, that's an another issue with him.

Hopefully the new Z can show him a few tricks
Whoa? Facial defects ?

He’s routinely in top 3 of best looking Bruins player voted by gals at work

Blasphemy

Love all the positive comments here. Carlo is a very good #4 and a right shot to boot. He is also signed to a good contract. Once he figured out how to avoid exposing himself to injury on the boards, his game really rounded out.

I also noticed that towards the end of the season he had more steam on his shot. I'd like to see him use it more, especially from far out. I gave him shit for shooting like an elementary school kid for years, hopefully he can develop it more and more while he can.

He's been Meh Brandon so far. His career is littered with bouts of lacking physicality, making bad decision of when to leave protecting out front. Last year he was really solid for most of the year.
I hate to see this inconsistency creep back into his game. They need Good Brandon.

Two very weak games from him. This team needs neither him nor Geekie. Would be great to package them for a legit 2nd line RW.

Team doesn't need these guys.

But you want a top 6 winger for them.

Would rather see more consistent defensive play from McAvoy than from Carlo.

I'm a Carlo fan, he's a brilliant skater and in today's NHL they teach you to defend north of the red line and he's great at that, he's great 1on1, he's great defending the rush, he's great at sticks in lanes in the Dzone... but, and I don't have any stats to back this up, I feel like he has never been great at tying up sticks and boxing out in front.

I haven't been thrilled with his start so far. Looked downright out of sync with the rest of his team in his own zone a few times. He seems to be genuinely surprised by what he's reading out there when he's usually pretty good at reading the play and defending against it before it happens. But, I feel the defense as a whole can clean it up a but. Hampus, Wotherspoon, and Peeke have been the three best guys on defense so far for the team IMO. Season is still very young and these guys are too good to not turn it around.

I agree with this 100%. I think Carlo would be at worst a #5 on any team in the league and a #3 on quite a few. There aren’t too many defensively sound 6’5” guys who can skate as well as he can out there, but of course he does have his flaws.

He turns 28 next month, but only has 3 years left, so all should be prime years, and at a reasonable $4.1M. He’s a very good player to have, especially considering his contract.

Oh, he's a top4 guy on any team in the league, IMO.
