Will add a twist to Battleground as that likely changes the way we look at some of the matches.

Smart move putting the draft on Smackdown. If this is going to work, Smackdown has to be relevant. Good way to start.

Smackdown better be on Tuesday here in Canada too. I haven't heard of them switching from Wednesday to Tuesday.

That would suck so much balls. Vince can't be that stupid, right?

He loves Cass (for obvious reasons). I don't know why he'd split up the most over team without giving us Enzo and Cass vs. New Day at Summerslam first.

Additionally, I don't think Enzo "works" as a solo act. Cass can get it done (especially if Carmella follows) but I don't see it with Enzo.

Alvarez is still certain that Cass and Enzo will be split up at the draft.

It's not a rumour or anything, just him speculating based on it being a terrible idea and that the WWE is WWE and that's what they do. It wouldn't surprise me if they did it really. It's the most Vince move ever after Corbin and Crews.

But I hope they split the D'Von and Bubba up. I want a Bully Ray run in WWE.

I thought D-Von clotheslining Bubba last night would have led to a turn, but it wasn't even mentioned. So weird.

They've confirmed we'll be getting the draft on the 19th of July, which is the Smakdown live debut. Same date as has been reported since they announced the split.

from today's pwinsider.com:

WWE®’S DESTINY LIVE ON SMACKDOWN®

NEW YORK and STAMFORD, CONN – June 20, 2016 – The destiny of all WWE Superstars will be determined on the first-ever live SmackDown on Tuesday, July 19 from 8-10 pm ET/PT on USA Network. A draft will be conducted by respective General Managers as to which talent will be chosen exclusively for Monday Night Raw® or SmackDown.

For the first time in history on back-to-back nights, these two distinctive brands (Monday Night Raw and Tuesday’s SmackDown) will compete with each other for television ratings, live events, and pay-per-views.

“This is an exciting new era for WWE in which we will yet again reinvent ourselves by creating a second night of compelling live television,†said Kevin Dunn, Executive Producer, WWE.

“We’re already hearing the excitement among WWE fans for SmackDown’s new live format, and our audiences are eagerly anticipating the live draft and what it means for their favorite Superstars,†said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.

With 878 original episodes, SmackDown is the second longest-running weekly episodic program in U.S. television history, only behind Monday Night Raw at 1,203 episodes.

They've never had a live Smackdown? Wasn't the first ever one live?

They've had a few live episodes in the past, but here they're just twisting words. First time live... on USA Netowrk. Same with how the PPVs are 'only' on the WWE Network... for 9.99 (opposed to the higher price on actual PPV).

On the Mark Madden show, Kurt Angle apparently said he's coming back but doesn't know when and that he talked to HHH 6 weeks ago.

I've said they'll never clear him for full-time competition.

Now that they're doing a brand split, they need bodies to fill out TV time.

Angle said in the same interview that his time is coming to an end and he can still work part-time and wants one more match in WWE before transitioning into managing, naming American Alpha.

Listing to Meltzer's show and he's on about people WWE are contracting.

On Angle, they've not gone to him to ask him to wrestle or anything. They've just said that they're willing to work with him again, opposed to their "do not touch" stance that they've had for years (Vince is scared that something bad will happen to an Olympic hero in is ring). They've got no plans for him or anything (yet), but Angle has always been wanting to go back so I guess it's just a case of waiting instead of hoping (hype!).

On Morrison/Mundo, he's not under one of the longer Lucha Underground contracts like some of the other talent that WWE want are (King Cuerno for example), but he probably makes a lot of money there. Ricochet has a contract offer for a ton of money from them, but it's unknown if he has signed it yet.

And an important player in everything is Austin Aries of all people. He's a guy who's been great for years, but they've never wanted him saying he'd not get over with their fans as they have much more colourful guys. But he was signed to NXT, and he got over massively. So now they're open to signing more vanilla guys as they've seen one get over, which means they've got a bigger pool of talent to chase.
