Tag team wrestling is great when you have a strong roster. But there isn't a large enough group of tag teams that you can successfully split them into two separate entities. I remember how the tag team division just flat out died during the original split.

The Tag Division failed because Vince stopped caring about it. When your Tag Team Champions lose in a handicap match to your World Champion in 30 seconds, it looks bad. And that kind of stuff happened constantly. Vince forgot that stars usually came from a Tag Team.

The original split had more than enough good teams for two shows. Just like we do now.
