We can be confident of one thing. Our management team. They did a tremendous job to avoid this situation from becoming a distraction. I have full trust in them to make the proper decisions going forward.

I think the Sens will be back to what they should be. A team that doesn’t have a whole lot of noise around it, where players can go about their business and focus on playing hockey. Tkachuk was bigger than the team. We need to go back to being the Carolina of the NHL where there’s not a whole lot of people talking about us but we can ice a good solid team.

I know but i want something positive to think about before bed

They run these headlines like “Toronto Blue Jays trade for Ohtani” and the article speculates that it might be a good move for the organization.

“Toronto acquires 4 picks from Chicago” and the article says that it might be the kind of thing that would help the organization.

If the reports are true and he didn’t want to be here and the locker room didn’t either than I think we did well. Got 4 good/great pieces for him without acquiring cap. Some people are miffed we don’t get a roster player back but honestly the flexibility we have right now is envious.

And it’s been a shitty few months, heck years, heck even decades - but it is what it is (god I hate that saying).

You can say "we did well under these circumstances" all you want, but reality is we got one top-10 pick at #9 and a bunch of nothing.

I really don't want to face these guys during the season. Having one pest is annoying as it is. Having to face three is not something I want to deal with. Teams need to stop giving no movement and no trade clauses when signing players. They shouldn't have so much leverage as to where they go.

In terms of what we will do with the 9th, 25th and 32th, either draft 3 CHL guys because you can hardly ever go wrong the league's best players or at least trade one of them plus Zetterlund. I wouldn't object a Kyrou or Thomas.

When a player has all the leverage and forces a trade this is what happens. The return is not good but it’s pretty much expected under the circumstances yeah.

He did apparently tell his teammates that he had not intention of extending which I did not know and is why the dressing room was ok with the move apparently.

It would also explain the urgency.

They don’t want a guy that doesn’t want to be here.
Ya im cool with that I think going into this summer most people wanted Staois to find out if he is signing or not and deal him if he isn't .

What Staois does from here on out will let us know what he is made of

What do you mean lol.

Feels like we won the lottery.

Got rid of a cancer and got 4 high value picks.

Brady is a fake superstar that you'd have to pay superstar money which would essentially become an anchor.

But he was our fake superstar. And we got one high value pick. Two good value picks and a mid value pick. Now should Florida fall off the face of the planet and that becomes a 2030 top 5 we’re cooking.

There is no easy way out of this. We’re going to miss him. Replacing his minutes and presence will be difficult.

My mom thinks Zetterlund is going to explode next season and I actually agree. He is Brady lite and it will be fun to watch him thrive with the proper ice time and talent. (Provided he isn’t also traded)

This is now Staios’s team. He can brand it however he sees fit and I don’t disagree with it but man does it hurt right now.

I'm not even sure which team between Sens and Canes should be the most mad. Carolina must be quite upset and wondering how they will get past Florida.

I’m not sad that Brady is gone, I didn’t think that he fit and wasn’t a good captain…hopefully the Sens can fill the void.

Well good on him for telling Staois and his teammates that he was not going to re-sign.

Actually what he told Staois was I’m not re-signing and I’ll only accept a trade to these 4 teams and one of them has my brother on it good luck buddy!

Thinking Foegele and Zetterlund can cover for Tkachuk is WILD bro.
one of the dumbest takes I have seen on here.

anyone who think that losing Brady and somehow this team will be better based on committee scoring and hopes and dreams are delusional

This is actually probably why they got a good number of picks in return. A team ain't trading 3 1st rounders for a player they aren't sure they can sign

Exactly this. His ego, his families ego starting with his dad and then brother. Bigger than the teams. Imagine watching this guy, the captain, getting away with no accountability for loafing around, not showing up when it matters, being a detriment with stupid penalties while your other teammates are benched, scratched etc. that travels in the room with resentment and poison. Glad he’s gone.

It’s 1 good first rounder, another that is basically a second and a top 10 protected pick 3 years from now lol.

Brady obviously played this well he negotiated for trade protection and he used it to squeeze the team. But I’ll be damned if I’m gonna give him an attaboy for f***ing us early instead of late.

Hopefully our PP will be up to the challenge. ;)

Sorry man but I think your mom knows shit about hockey. Zetterlund is an ok player but there is no chance he explodes and pots 30 goals for us.

Would love to know what Minny offered. In the end I guess it doesn’t matter as despite Brady saying he’d go to 4 teams I really think he basically told Staois only Florida or bust

I love how this is portrayed as a list. He gave a list but then said my list is really one team. Ok so no list. Got it. Anyway, this was the most predictable thing ever.
