I'm glad the bandaid was ripped off this summer instead of waiting another year.

The return we would have got a year from now almost certainly would have been quite a bit worse.

If it was going to happen at some point, better it happened now so we could maximize his return.

It's crazy. This partly only happens because Florida missed the playoffs.

Who knows, maybe it happens anyways, but if Florida doesn't have the 9th overall pick, they really don't have a package.

For everybody involved, the Sens, Brady, the Panthers, knowing how they had that pick must have ensured that this wasn't going to drag on.

It was just mean to be.

Jake Sanderson is guaranteed the next captain of this franchise by the way. 100% guaranteed.

He will lead this team on and off the ice and he will be a great leader.

It won’t be Stutzle and it won’t be Chabot.
Stützle is the guy they give the A when someone is out, he’s the guy they trot out there during difficult moments to chat with the media, he’s the guy that fills up half the CTC with his jersey, and he’s not American which is a nice way to avoid the drama after international tournaments.

I will be genuinely surprised if it’s not him.

If something as softball as this makes him want out, then he's not cut out for a Canadian market.
That's where we will disagree man.. I don't think this was very "softball".

He was harassed endlessly by the media and "fans"; probably had his DMs filled with hate over being an American visiting the white house etc..

If you don't feel welcomed in the city you live in, you're not going to be motivated to stay and play.

IDGAF if he was a Trump supporter or not... I don't care about player's political views.. this type of obsession from people in Canada is going to drive desire to play in our market right into the ******* ground.

Wait until you find out majority of the players are conservative you may have to cheer for another team lol

Enjoy your party lol
Most players know enough to shut their f***ing mouths and not make themselves the center of a controversy. Brady had none of those qualities.

Can't imagine looking at our softball media pool and thinking this is a tough media market. Absolute kid gloves here compared to elsewhere.

Like, are people really complaining that we lost a player that couldn't hack our media market? That bitched ad infinitum about how much shit his controversial actions kicked up behind him?
We're to believe that our franchise is crippled because big, bad Brady Tkachuk - supposed elite fearless power forward - left town because Claire Hanna was mean to him.

He might be named the next Captain, but do you think he's going to want to stay long?

He was already harassed by our idiot media team over the olympics and visiting the white house. If the Sens show any sign of being good, the toronto media will jump on the first opportunity to drive our boy out of town.
Well if the team is a contender then I'm pretty sure he will stay, playing on a contending team matters

There is a huge difference in the character level of Sanderson vs Brady.

Sanderson will treat the C as a privilege and live up to it. Brady thought it was his by right.

Sanderson is gonna use the C to push himself to be even better.

I just don’t think Stutzle has the same mindset and attitude that Sanderson has.

I put my money on Sanderson.

I am more confident than ever that moving him is the right decision to make for this team and the fans.

Being the captain of this team should mean something. That there should be an expectation of how the captain comports himself on and off the ice. How he represents this city and the team. I am not ok with him being the captain of this team moving forward. It is abundantly clear to me that he isn't respecting what it means to be the captain of the team in the nation's capital.

If people think that this team rests on the shoulders of a single player, they can follow Tkachuk for all I f***ing care.

Dude he got asked questions in one scrum.

He got the exact same thing that Miller got in NYC, or Swayman got in Boston. The guy the questions were about isn't exactly beloved in those cities either.

It had zero to do with that.

His wife moved out of Canada when people thought the Four Nations tournament would be an exhibition game. Before any political stuff happened (i.e. tariffs, tweets, etc).

They didn't want to live here. And that's their choice. He negotiated a NMC and as soon as he had the leverage, used it.

Nothing was changing this. He was never staying here.

Glad Staios acted quickly.
