What is so wrong with attending a UFC fight, being held on the WH lawn, on Flag Day, during the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the DOI?

He’s an American if you didn’t know .

Oh, are you saying the 100s of US Military personnel are clowns?
I'd argue that 1000s, maybe tens of 1000s of US Military personnel are clowns.

Idk if that's the argument to discredit Brady's clown status.

Front line players left Cal, Van, Det, Tor, Buf, PLD bitched his way out of 3 teams...there's a fckn growing list. This isn't unique. What is unique is that his family has been vocal to the point of tampering, overshadowing the whole organization. Most of us hoped that Brady would be his own person. Myself included. But he's not. He's a Bot. You could see it happening. All this bullshit about the media and fans being mean. What are we going to do now? Maybe get some players, draft some more players, have a training camp, then head into next season without a bunch of bullshit?
Ok. And those Canadian teams except maybe Toronto won't come close to winning a cup in the next 10 years. Ottawa especially doesn't have the financial resources to compete with a rapidly rising salary cap.

This is getting to be something ugly for canadian teams,I'm of the mind that brady wasn't resigning in Ottawa and a deal had to be made so he got what he can,and I'm sure if Ottawa management might want to flip the picks for help now I would think Ottawa suffers from the same stigma minus the harsh winter as winnipeg, which means most players of value have a nmc of some sort and Ottawa might be on that list,I don't want canadian small markets to become feeder teams for the big US clubs but it's looking more and more like that's becoming the truth, canadian owners have to push for changes to the amount of nmc crap out there.im sure staois wanted more but with a nmc their hands were tied.

Well to compare the current roster with Tkachuk still in it to recent Cup winners, we are short a top scorer or two, some top notch gritty 3rd/4th liners, and a few dependable above average defenders from their level. This wasn't going to be filled in the next year or two regardless, with no early pick this year or tradeable assets in surplus.
So now with picks, trades of picks, and/or free agents, these could be added without plucking the best assets off the roster in the space of a year or two, depending on the path - there is some hope.
Better still, the Habs showed they passed us and are very close to ready for prime time this year, and have a window open over the next few seasons before the salary cap, free agency and a losses due to aging become a factor. A revived locked and loaded Panthers and Carolina staying loaded makes them far less likely to get over the top in this prime period. If nothing else, Sens fans can be happy the loudmouths down the highway now have another roadblock, and not drafting Brady could be haunting them yet again.

Alright here are some of my thoughts after sitting on it for a couple of hours.

#1 - Good f***ing riddance. If you don’t want to be here or in this city when they are finally getting into a winning seasons then you can suck a f***ing egg. An end to the shittiest stretch of Sens hockey era since early 1990s. Dude quits on his team when they are on the verge of actually doing something for the first time in 10 years. wow

#2 - Dudes impact on the team has always been f***ing overrated since Day 1. Team played their best hockey when he was injured. Took them a while to learn how to win with him on the roster. Invincible as f*** in the playoffs. The team will be better off after this. I f***ing guarantee it.

#3 - Soft as f*** mentally. The city and the fans rolled out the red carpet for him since day 1. Gave him the C over Chabot, let him cheat offensively playing that DJ Smith hockey without calling out his shitty defence or attention to details or the losing seasons. Then repays them by holding out in contract negotiations.

#4 - Not a single hard question from the media or fans in all the losing seasons here except for 1 last year. I am sorry but if the big bad Ottawa media is what drove you to not be here after all these years of softball questions then you don’t have the balls to be a captain here. What do the f*** do you expect when you spend once a week doing a podcast with your shitty brother and dad shit talking your own teammates, talking about how great another city is. A truly daft individual.

#5 - Also any f***ing idiot here or there blaming the fans or the media for this decision then you need your need to stop eating rocks.

#6 - One of the worst captains in sens era. The shittiest teams ever, no heart, couldn’t carry teams like Alfie, Spezza or Karlsson did. All excuses, no show playoffs and checked out after the playoffs. At least Alfie and Karlsson were dealing with the worst ownership ever lived. What’s your f***ing excuse? Or was that too hard of a questions waaahh wahhh wahhh

Sens cup 2028. f*** brady and f*** his apologists, self hating morons.

The new CBA has revenue sharing targeted at the top of the salary cap range so ...frankly, the team has never been on more solid footing

By the way no need to be worried at all, as soon as Islanders moved on from Tavares, they became one of the best playoff teams for 6 years straight, unfortunately they ran into a dynasty Lightning team

Yeah seems like you're grasping at straws dude.

So many "ifs" but the reality is Staios is in a very bad situation and I highly doubt he has the skills to get himself out of it. It's not entirely on him given Brady wanting out, but I'm done making excuses for any GM on this team.
Staios has been in a tough situation since arriving in Ottawa - he inherited a capped out non-playoff team with very few picks or prospects. He remains in a tough situation, but that would be true regardless of what happened today.

I actually think it would be harder on him long-term if he gave Tkachuk a 7 x 14 extension or whatever. I just don't think he's that kind of player.

Sens got f***ed by asshole bettman and now they trade their Captain for ....it's not a bad package but I think they could have done better.

Laughing at how bad they are. With the salary cap rising significantly the Sens won't be able to keep up spending with the other teams. The revenue just isn't there.
Canes just won the cup and were around $9M under the cap. Smart acquisitions who can play Rod's system. It's do-able with the right pieces but I don't really trust the scouting staff. Does anyone in the front office have a scouting background? Would they have drafted a player like Zach Benson? If they continue with their size fetish and don't give more weight to hockey IQ, the future looks grim IMO.

We can use Brady's production, but even if Staios doesn't use the draft capital to acquire immediate help, its not the end of the world. Our offense takes a hit, but with no changes, we still ice a top 9 of:

Zetterlund Stu Batherson
Foegle Cozens Greig
Giroux Pinto Amadio

Foegle and Zetterlund with consistent linemates and icetime in the top 6 will have better numbers. We will have an influx of talent coming down the pipeline. Our defense and forwards committing to Green's system got us into the playoffs. We can still be competitive for a WC spot and if Ullmark bounces back, we still compete for a division seed. Adding a Bjork, Lawrence or Belchetz next season or mid season depending on their development could also give us a boost.
