  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
You can mock other posters all you want but the reality is that another front line players has left the Sens and all they have to replace him is futures.
So maybe tell us how the Sens are going to remain a playoff team let alone get better when the Leafs and Florida are certainly better than last year and teams like Buffalo and the Habs aren't going away???
Maybe give it a bit of time and let Staios cook.

I dont have much faith in Staios adressing all our needs
Well, Staois is unlikely to fill all those needs in this offseason. A segment of the fan base will be impatient, but Staois needs to identify his strategy and pull the trigger when he really has the right target identified (& available).

Glad we don't have to deal with their podcast anymore-
Active NHL player doing a regular podcast seems like a bad idea with way more downside than upside; active NHL player brothers on different teams doing that same podcast feels like an even worse idea. (and I think we saw it was...)

It's hard to tolerate a teammate who you think isn't giving 100% of themselves. People can put up with a lot, but not that.

If I can see it through my TV screen then certainly the guys in the room with him are well aware that he had one foot out the door for months.

This is the one major issue I had with him and was told repeatedly it had to be related to injury blah blah blah but considering it looks like his own teammates thought the same thing, it looks like he really was half-assing it out there and as you say, professionals will not tolerate that shit, especially from the captain.

Still a terrible return though, and I don't see how we get ourselves out of this hole.

Just wait for a few weeks we’ll be fine.

Brady was a soft baby that got teary eyed when the fans boo’d the team after dog shit efforts.

I’m sure he got teary eyed because folks in Canada showed some national pride too (only allowed to do that in the US I suppose).

Dude is gonna cash in and play with his bro in the sun. He never cared about this city and never had any intention of staying here long term. The idea that the market drove him out is dog water.

Good riddance.

St Brown brothers do it in the NFL and it’s not an issue for them.

Granted Amon Ra is like 10x the athlete and competitor that Brady is.

Lots and lots of draft capital with no money coming back.

Swing for the fences Staois
I think Staois needs to be strategic and think long term. A knee jerk reaction trade trying to squeak into the playoffs could end up putting the Senators in a deeper hole. The Eastern Conference was strong and very competitive last year, and this upcoming season won’t be any easier (could be even tougher).

The team has to do some moves

It just has to

There is no way we retool or rebuild with the guys we have and their contracts
We have the cap dollars to pay a first line forward, or possibly two top 6 Fs. Will Staios try to sign 1 or 2 via UFA? Or via Offer Sheet? or via Trade? I expect a trade.

Can't say directly. Just one of those things.
How can you make a claim without backing it up?

Now I don't listen to many podcasts or follow players on social media, but I follow the Sens news and I have no recollection of any political statements by Tkachuk. I have tried searching it online and have found no statements from Tkachuk. The closest I remember is visiting the White House, but a whole bunch of players have done that. If visiting the White House is a sufficient condition for being a Trump supporter than Crosby and Lemieux are as well. If not, then without actual public comments than people's beliefs of his politics are nothing but speculation. And if their speculation is correct, than sure he is MAGA, but he is also one that "shut their f***ing mouths and not make themselves the center of a controversy".

Marner left Toronto seemingly because of being under the media/fan base microscope. Taxes and weather may be two reasons why players don't want to play in Canada, but I think toxicity on social media is another.
