He had two years left on his deal so not sure where you are getting the “lose him to UFA”. They could’ve waited into next season or the next offseason and let this become even more of a circus than it was this year (and most likely get even less in return).Proactive? They had no choice apparently if what we're being told is true. It was either trade him now or lose him to UFA. I don't see how this merits any sort of kudos.
And we're not getting Robertson. If that's their plan, we're in even bigger trouble than I thought.
Shut up.About what crap.
They’re in the sports business. Which is messy. And the winning business is even messier.
This is the appropriate response, IMO.
The return for Brady is painful.
The 2029 1st rounder from Florida is top 10 protected.
Of course the 29 1st is top-10 protected.
Nah, I wanted him gone. You guys know how we feel now.
Karlsson is old as dirt and Laf is an egotistical POS. Find better.
A Robertson offersheet would be 4 first round picks no?
That would literally ruin this franchise for the next 15 years.

Sens could do a 1 year offer sheet at about 12 million. Two 1sts, one 2nd, one third.
Robertson would not have trade protection.
If Dallas matches, they cannot trade him for a year, effectively allowing him to walk for nothing.
Robertson signs it because it gets him 12 million dollars and allows him to walk to free agency. Ottawa does it because if Robertson won't sign an extension, they can flip him like Carolina did with Rantanen.

Trade him in September or October or DecemberBecause you risk getting Panarin'd, or at the very least DeBrincat'd.
You don't wait to trade Brady until he's eligible to sign an extension, as it gives him even more leverage to pick a single destination like the two players above did, severely handicapping their team's ability to get a fair return.
NYR got a single 1st (Greentree) for their star LW, we got a late 1st and Sebrango for DeBrincat back in 23/24.
Also Florida wasn't going to trade any of their top players, as it would have defeated the entire point of trading for Brady in the first place.
It's also worth pointing out that almost all of Florida's top players have NTCs, which they aren't waiving to come to Ottawa.
Not surprising. That's a smart operation down there in Florida. The 2029 1st rounder from Florida is top 10 protected.
It's atrocious no matter what people delude themselves into thinking.
And people who think we're better simply by subtraction are even more delusional. Brady might have been regressing, but he filled a role almost no one else can fill, and I don't see how we can replace that through trade with these picks. Had we gotten a top-3 pick I might have felt differently.
I genuinely believe Sanderson is dumb as a rock and is so ignorant/blase that I don’t think ill of him other than he should read some books and the news (not fox). Brady on the other hand revelled in that shit.

Sandy the next one to ask out.Lmao
Whatever man, this sport is dumb. Can’t wait until for a nuclear war.
Does Sanderson even stay here long term?
