I see Brady Tkachuk to Dallas or St. Louis.

STL makes sense being his home town, I personally wouldn’t pay the price. We are talking something like Kyrou + Snuggerud + 2025 1st. The Blues rebuild is going well, I’d just stay the course and let their prospects develop. We have some good ones.

Is this a joke? Have you seen the other offers?

Lapierre is not amounting to much, Chesley is nothing special and that 1st looks like it is going to be a late one. Mangiapane is a cap dump with his 5.8 AAV

INSULTING OFFER
Settle down. And no, I didn’t spend time reading seven pages of proposals. The thread said, “to the highest bidder,” to which I put in a proposal for a player that would be a luxury and not a need in Washington, knowing we’d likely be outbid. You’ll recover from this, I promise.

And you can dislike the offer but your credibility is shot if you think Mangiapane is a cap dump. He was traded for a 2nd (you know, actual value — not a cap dump) and is on pace to score 20 goals despite no PP time, plus he’s on a very reasonable expiring cap hit. He’d be one of the better rental forwards this year if he was on the market.

I still think the Rangers trade for him by the deadline. Rangers are in the market for a high impact player and Brady fits the bill.
Totally agree….. he has leadership, grit, and can score. Trochek and Kreider are the only rangers real leadership.
And Kreider is more of a quiet “lead by example, do what I do” kind of leader.
He doesn’t have that fire/raw emotion. Never really has, not a knock against him, just is who he is. Good player.
Zibby, NO, don’t get me started.
Panarin, NO. Pretends he speaks absolutely no English to avoid talking to press…. Will not pay the price to take a hit to make the needed play at the needed time. He’s lucky he’s Uber talented with elite hands and vision, but in the playoffs the little things he doesn’t/wont do become more glaring….
Trochek, Yes. Guy is go to war with 7 days a week. Hasn’t been here that long, but I’d wager he’s in line to be the next captain.
Laffy will absolutely be a NYR captain at some point. Has all the qualities you want, but NYR aren’t going to add that on his plate while he’s progressing. The kid needs to be on 1PP since last year. He steps up when needed including in the playoffs. He needs more minutes/responsibility in critical moments and 1st unit PP time.
Fox has a similar demeanor to Kreider with far more talent. Just a quiet type of personality who leads by example and by his play 99% of the time……
Should NYR acquire BT, I’d wager he’s wearing a letter by the end of the season..
I don’t think he'd be captain, but I wouldn’t unequivocally rule it out either.

I can see OTT having a lot of interest in some of the NYR prospects.
Obviously Perrault, but likely Othmann, Emery, even guys like Berard tbh.
They have some decent size deals tied up in Stuztle/Norris/Chabot etc….. some excellent bargains like batherson… they know Sanderson going to cost a lot, kids a stud….
Imo, this could possibly be an ideal landing spot for Kakko…. I don’t think NYR 100% wants to deal him, he’s a big solid kid that shows he can play a man’s game down low, along the boards, in front of the net, etc and score at even strength…he’s had a lot of pressure to deliver in since being drafted, combined with some bad luck/injuries in NY….
Word is he wants a larger role and more minutes along with special teams time.
Unless a bunch of injuries happen, that probably not going to be in NY.
I’m sure his agent is also telling him not to sign any type of long term deal until he can get a full season like that somewhere….
They can also be interested in chytil, but imo more so Kakko……
It wouldn’t surprise me to see him take the next step like Bennett did, Or countless other players when given a change of scenery and more leeway/opportunity.
Can absolutely see him as 60PT big bodied 2-way wing in sens top 6 In next year or two if dealt in package for BT

lol and you even try to justify it

My mistake on Mangiapane, I thought he had some term left but that still doesn't make him very valuable. And by the way, 6 goals in 27 games is not a 20 goals pace, 10 pts in 27 games is really bad value at 5.8 AAV

None of the pieces you have proposed are even close to be valuable for a player like Tkachuk

I mean it's all for fun but there's a limit to that, the fun stops when it is ridiculous like that. My credibility is not shot at all lol, I'm not the one who made that ultra non-realistic proposal.

Honestly, it’s probably not far off from the trade that would likely occur….
Prospect could be a guy like emery instead of Othmann.
OTT would probably want Perrault and NYR would like do everything they can to avoid that. But who knows.

Imo that the likely package/return you would see from whatever team trades for him. Maybe and a conditional pick on the end if team wins a round or 2 in playoffs, but probably close.

top for Young Big D with room to improve, middle 6 young big W again, with room to improve.
Top 3-5 prospect from other teams farm…. (If they see boom bust potential or a safer guy with lower ceiling he’d likely hit) whatever sens scouts/FO thinks…
1st rounder self explanatory….

If the prospect isn’t their A+ best, like I said maybe another conditional pick that becomes a 1st with favorable conditions in sens favor.

It’s a deal that has more depth and value with solid potential to help sens now and longer term should guys keep developing and picks and prospects pan out….
Biggest thing is it doesn’t gut the trading teams existing roster.

Sens give the highest current quality piece, and fills out another…
Get a Wing that can step in and try to fill void left by BT with room to improve
And add another core young Top 4 D to an already good young D core….
Again he also has room to grow/improve. Both those 2 guys have a lot of playoff game experience including a lot of long hard series….
Both won’t cost a ton on their next deals either. Those are the types of guys you want to add to a young team looking to make the playoffs for multiple years.
The picks and prospects are always going to be a gamble….some may be more of a sure thing to make the NHL, but no one is guaranteed to succeed…
It’s more cost controlled young assets or trade ammunition for sens down the line……
Look at most of the deals for High profile talented wingers that want out of their current situation in the last 8-10 years….
Nash, Hossa, stone, etc the list goes on and on. Even the Joe Thornton deal from Bos and Eichel to Vegas, and centers historically cost more to acquire

NYR def doesn’t do that deal. Not for 31-32 yr old miller and not without sending substantial cap out the door. Just doesn’t work/make sense

Never mind him. Some Sens fans think you should gut your team for a supposed captain who can't get his own out of the basement.

Wait til Tkachuk walks at the end of his deal. You know it's coming.

Nemec, Mercer, 2026 1st, (2) 2025 2nds, and Palat (cap dump) for Tkachuk.

Devils can’t make it work without Palat going the other way, which increases the return for Ottawa.

Brady for Elias Pettersson 1 for 1 is actually something I would consider, and would probably beat any offer from other teams. Pettersson is better suited on a non fishbowl market, and Brady is some one that would help any contender. A unicorn for an equally young PPP 1C that plays a strong 2 way game.
I'm guessing Brady wants to go back to America. Based on his brother's trade list, probably not to the West coast either. I see Dallas as the most likely destination.

They have assets, and it's freedom town.

My guess is that Brady has a somewhat similar list of ideas destinations to what his brother had. Matthew's list was: Florida, Colorado, Carolina, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, and Vegas.

lol you're one of the most puzzling posters on this forum, you can't even understand the difference between evaluating individual performance and team performance. You make so many posts exposing that flaw it's actually quite hilarious.

Stutzle 36 pts in 28 GP, 8.35 AAV
Matthews 19 pts in 19 GP, 13.25 AAV

Production vs cap hit, another thing you were never able to understand, no matter how many times you got it explained.

Lekkerimaki, Silovs, Kudryavtsev, Hoglander, 2025 1st, 2026 1st, Desharnais + Heinen (cap reasons) for Tkachuk and Kleven.

Kleven not for trade. Well, Tkachuk isn't too technically but I guess it depends on how the team performs for the rest of the season. They're only playing for 0.500 but if you watch the games, they have dominated the majority of them but sometimes struggle to convert on their chances or get the extra save (Ullmark seems to have settled in finally and has been really good his last 5 starts. Forsberg is unfortunately done, can't get over his double knees injury). They're still close to a playoffs spot. Even if they miss, Tkachuk might want to give this team more time with his friends, sort of like Leafs players not leaving despite all those 1st round losses.

So all that said, due to Dorion's mismanagement, Sens can't afford to trade any young cost controlled asset for now. So Kleven, JBD, Greig, Ostapchuk and even Pinto are not available

You can remove Hoglander, Kudryavtsev and Silovs from the equation, interested in getting Desharnais and Heinen though

Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Giroux - Stutzle - Gaudette
Greig - Pinto - Heinen
Cousins - Ostapchuk - Gregor
Amadio

Chabot - Jensen
Sanderson - Desharnais (Zub)
Kleven - JBD
Matinpalo

From sabres ?

Cozens, byram, kulich. 1 pick ?

Interesting. I would do it but it's because I am not emotionally attached to Tkachuk. The whole Sens organization and a lot of Sens fans seem to be though.

Ottawa wouldn't need Cozens to play at Center so maybe he could just focus on his offensive game with them. Byram can play both sides which is a luxury and an insurance policy if one of Chabot/Sanderson is injured. Plus Kulich and a pick make it interesting

That said I wouldn't a package around Peterka or Tuch. Obviously Peterka would be preferred due to his connection to Stutzle. Crazy that the Sens didn't draft lol (Dorion self-damage never stops)

Tkachuk for Rantanen?

That'd be awesome but I guess it really depends on how much he wants as an extension.

The value is there but Sens already have Stutzle, Norris, Pinto, Greig and Ostapchuk at Center, their needs are on the Wings. Unless they trade Norris and go with a Stu-Petersson duo at C... but then they get really weak on Wing because after Tkachuk and Batherson there is :

- 36 y/o Giroux (age is catching up)
- 36 y/o Perron (age is catching up plus personal/injury problems)
- 28 y/o Gaudette who still isn't really proven long term
- 22 y/o Greig who is just a sophomore and can't be relied on to produce offense yet

Sens don't have depth on Wings and that is the most glaring weakness on the team after Hamonic and Forsberg so if they're trading Tkachuk, they have to keep this in mind
