If the Rangers were to trade any youth for Brady Tkachuk then he’d more than likely be in the same situation he’s in now in around 2 years. Rangers are in a weird spot because they chose a quick retool instead of a rebuild. Half their guys aging out.

One of the most overrated players in the NHL because he is a power forward, this always happens.

If he gets moved, I have a feeling it'll be an overpayment.

I wouldn't trade Slafkovsky, but Sens would seriously consider this, Slafkovsky's contract kicks in next season and Ottawa would have him under control for 8 years.
No they wouldn’t lol. 😂

Rangers didn’t want to do Slaf for Lafrenière without an add from Montreal.

Rangers we’re offering Lafrenière, Kakko and a first for Brady.

Slafkovsky for Lafreniere? Habs decline. Remember when Lafrenière was a bum, and look at him now right? Well Slafkovsky is a unicorn, watch in a couple years

Just for fun: 2025 1st, Andrew Mangiapane, Hendrix Lapierre, Ryan Chesley for Brady to Washington. Would be willing to swap out a different prospect for Chesley if RD isn’t of interest but not Ryan Leonard.

Ottawa “has” to take Mangiapane back for salary cap reasons, but they could easily flip him for more assets at the deadline as he’s on pace for 20 goals this season. He’s been really good for the Caps.

I still think the Rangers trade for him by the deadline. Rangers are in the market for a high impact player and Brady fits the bill.

Thats pretty good.
Not going to happen.
When these type of trades happen, 1 team isn’t going to take multiple young established players off their roster….
Ex, There will likely be 1 -3 guys they like, and whatever guy the 2 gms agree on, they go from there with multiple prospects/picks etc etc……

Playoff teams don’t go create 2 holes to fill 1 with just an upgrade at one position.

I highly doubt NYR would deal Laffy+ Miller+ 1st to upgrade Laffy to Tkachuk????
Laf hasn’t even gotten an opportunity to be on NYR 1 PP a whole season…..
It’s not a stretch by any means to think he add around 30pts more a year to his totals…..
BT is more physical and a better agitator but Laffy isn’t just a straight skill player……

I can See the sens absolutely asking for it, but not getting it.
Sens would absolutely target laf and Cuylle, but doubt NYR moves either….
Obviously Cuylle+ Perrault+1st+ conditional 1st etc

if the guy is miller, they prob shoot for miller+ Perrault+1st maybe???

I really doubt they want to move Perrault at all, but for a player of BT’s caliber, you’re going to have to add an enticing chip if they expect to keep Laffy and add Brady….
They would likely also get solid value if they decide to trade kreider( if he waives for a right situation) at the TDL, should this season go south…..
It would absolutely suck to lose Perrault, a lot of controlled pay years and really high end potential but presumably if they want to build around a top 6 containing Laf/Cuylle/Tkachuk/Trochek/mika?/Kreider?
Adding BT pretty much would guarantee Panarin doesn’t get resigned here….
Don’t know what their blue print is……

Kakko and Chytil are also pieces that I’d see OTT having interest in. Both guys are still young and cost isn’t giant issue. Both playing well this year. They may feel Kakko could really flourish with a bigger opportunity in OTT playing with a talent like Stutzle…..
He much like Laf is a really good even strength 2 way player that doesn’t get any real PP time and is basically stuck in 3rd line situation.
( obviously not core piece of the deal, but OTT could very well want 1 of those guys coming back as part of the return).

IMO, NYR has the ammunition and if BT really wants out, I’d wager he’d really love to go to NY with the foundation that’s already in play over there……..

All depends on the way both teams play the rest of the way though…..
I’d wager about 15 teams that would love to add BT that can afford him and have the assets to deal for him without doing serious damage to their existing roster…..
Maybe 10-12…..
Either way there would be no shortage of interest should BT basically ask/demand he be traded from OTT

These proposals are hilarious.

If he finishes this year at his current pace that would have landed him 10th in goals and 12th in points last year.
(He finished 20th last year in goals and 41 in pts)

All while playing probably the most physical game in the league.
but yeah totally overrated lol
