I was looking at the underlying numbers for Brady,

A couple things stood out to me;

FA/60 37.29 is the lowest of his career by a significant margin, was 41.1 last year
xGA/60 of 2.12 similarly is the lowest, was 2.73 last year.

The "for" stats went down pretty much proportionately, so the FF% and xGF% remains similar albeit a touch lower.

All this suggests he's likely "cheating" less for offense.

pts/60 are up from 2.38 to 2.69, but he's shooting less at 10.4 instead of 12.4.

Blocking a lot more shots, 2.35/60 vs 1.52 the year before, and hitting a bit more. The blocks suggest he's in lanes more, the hits might be from the forecheck, so I won't read much into that.
I appreciate these numbers.

My issue is, again last night, was the first goal. Once again, just like the Buffalo game, he is not doing the business in his own end. Montreal game. Too many moments this year where he is costing the team in his own end. I hope it is a work in progress...and your numbers dfinitely show that he is changing his game.

I was going to bash him, but honestly can't knock him for actually changing his game, and it will take time. These are real coaches, people, and this may get worse before it gets better

Oh, he definitely still misses assignments, and will try to stretch out the D.

All you can ask for is progress, and I do think we are seeing that, but hockey is a game of instincts and instincts don't change overnight. .

I feel like you might have a distorted view of how the rich live...

Like, do you think they all drive around in their Bentley's asking if you have any grey poupon too?
I think you don't have a clue how the rich live if you think a guy of his financial means doesn't have a night nurse/nanny living with them to help with the newborn.

One very key thing would be if he and stutzle could possess the puck and spend more time in the o zone.

According to NHL edge, at even strength
Brady is in the 61st percentile at 41.3% in Ozone
Tim is at the 75th percentile at 42.4% in Ozone

For puck possession only teams will know via sportlogiq stats that I’m aware of.
Top 5 players are around 1 minute 20 seconds a game, last I saw.

Well, I've known and worked for people who fall in the category of millionaires, a good buddys step father was sold a high tech firm he started, and none of them had live in nanny's, so I'm pretty comfortable with my understanding of how the people with financial means I know lived.

Not everyone sees caring for their infant child as a burden they need to hire someone else to take care of.

Around the bend
Time to separate Brady and Stu, nice boost to both lines when they swapped Tim and Josh end of last game.

Brady needs to play North South to be effective. When he is with Tim sometimes he starts trying to do too much and play outside his skillset. Maybe Brady and Josh will mesh playing a more straight line game.
