They were playing Stützle on the top line between 7&19 in the final game last night. Norris in the 2C spot. I wonder if that’s foreshadowing for next year.

Brady and Bath with a playmaking centre could be something. I think the established first line will be together a long time though, so much chemistry.

Stützle is so good, just get him one winger and you have a first line - the third piece can be a complimentary guy. Then you roll with Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson and it essentially gives you two first lines. That’s my ideal scenario anyway.

“40 goals in a game” is the joke.

Brady is the prototypical power forward that so many teams covet. He's also a Captain to boot. He has changed the face of the franchise.

My core for this team today:
Tkachuk
Norris
Batherson
Stutzle
Pinto
Chabot
Sanderson
Formenton
Zub
Joseph

Guys that will emerge in the next 1-3 years (Fingers crossed):
2022 First Round Pick
Greig
Sokolov
Thomson
JBD
Kleven
Boucher
Sogaard
Ostapchuk
Järventie

I think Tkachuk could hit 40 goals next season in a 82 game schedule if he can stay healthy most of the season. He scores most of his goals within a few feet of the net where most of the goals in the NHL are scored & he is becoming one of the best powerforwards in the NHL around the net. He's just getting started.

Why does Keith Tkachuk look like he's 60 when he's still just 50? He's not that much older than me and I could pass for his son lol.
Probably because he has played over 15 yrs in one of the toughest sports at the highest level & he played a very hard fought game every night. There are a lot of miles on that body, he should consider getting one of those circus mirrors that make him look skinny & taller, like his son.

So did Aaron Ward, Scott Niedermayer, Darcy Tucker and Bill Guerin — all of whom retired the same year as Tkachuk. Probably not the lone cause.

All depends on injuries & how healthy you are when you leave. Tkachuk may have had a number of injuries during his career that catch up to you l;ater in life. I wonder if he has repaced his kness yet?

It's funny to me how people keep asking the "Is Brady potentially being a traitor to his own team by cheering on the Flames in Calgary" question when in reality what he's doing is being the best marketing tool the Senators have ever had despite us not even being the playoffs. He's on every highlight package and numerous podcasts and people around the league are starting to fall in love with the kid.

What more could you ask for from a team that isn't even in the playoffs? Not like our marketing team could ever dream up a better marketing campaign anyway lol.

It certainly gets people talking. No such thing as bad publicity, I guess.

I think he's probably the most marketable personality out there right now. I don't think many other players could get away with it. Like, if Toews were out cheering on the Penguins, I don't think it would fly... though Brady is really cheering on his brother not the team.

If the Flames go all the way that’s a lot of beer time and not gym time for Brady this off-season haha

Players that get out of shape after they retire sometimes just stop training, watching what they eat etc.....because they have had to do that for over 40 years ( since they were kids).
It is their time now to enjoy pizza, beer, and become a couch potato. And once they do that they really lose their shape as body metabolism catches up with them. ( Us all).

Why is Mark Stone not also in Calgary supporting his brother? Brady is clearly the better captain. Good move by Dorion.

Other players from around the league see this and can admire the "balls" Brady has to do this. He commits to something and doesn't give a crap what people think. They know that if they come to play in Ottawa this guy will have their backs no question asked. That's a real leader.
