Brady is is in the ackward stage of his career where he is amazing, fans adore him, he’s doing everything he can but the fans have never seen his game translate to wins. Alfie went through the exact same thing here before he was “god” - fans loved the man like they love Brady now but there was always a vail between the fans and Alfie about is this the right guy to win with, he was Swedish (sounds weird saying that now), he wasn’t flashy, he had a small market vibe to him (unlike EK who had a big market vibe) - it wasn’t until he scored some big goals, led the team to the finals that he became “god”, it wasn’t until the fans saw his brand of hockey be matched by the team. Haven’t seen that from Brady, we see the skill and the talent, but we don’t see the team and the player fully integrated so the questions of “is this the guy” persist until he breaks through.

Similar to Matthew in Calgary, the player and the brand of hockey don’t match, not until Matthew got to Ottwa and the team played his style behind his leadership did he become who he is today.

Brady needs a chance to score some big goals, and carry the team. Until he does the questions about back checking, winning hockey, culture will be there. Love the guy, but he deserves “Gid” status and that only comes on the ice. Can’t do that with a microphone and a Karaoke machine.

I personally want to see a better effort in the defensive zone this year. Especially his habit of cheating err anticipating the offensive opportunity too early at times

I think a lot of that was DJ liked to have players cherry pick, but I know what you mean. i think so much success of the season is if the Brady/Stu line can outplay other teams both ways.

Down 4-1 and our captain is out here trying to be funny

thats embarrassing man

especially since hutson clowned him for the 3rd goal to put the game away. and he starts doing this when its 4-1? the f***.

brady wasn't ready to be captain 3 years ago and he isn't ready now.

this is the most immature team in the nhl.

they lose not because they don't have the size, the skill, or the speed.

they lose because they are immature.

I’m sick of the T.V. theatrics. You know what Brady Takchuk is good at - getting attention and acting like a little brother and embarrassing himself in the process. You know what Brady Takchuk sucks at and has sucked at going back to College, WINNING

Brady you got dominated by a guy who has 5 games in the NHL and you can’t catch him, glad you got your 14 year old frustrations out but you look like a clown.

Mocking Hutson or faking out their goalie? Maybe it's just me, but it looks more like it was done to play games on the goalie, not the defender. Not really a bad strategy since that kid was playing quite well in the crease last night.

It was a funny moment jesus christ. Take a step back.
Nah, there is time or funny moment and it seems for Tkachuk it always time . The guy loves attention of cameras/media it's not new now. This attitude is really not good for a Captain he is not the young guy anymore.

If Brady had another last name , he would be somebody that nobody talks about and probably not the Sens captain this is a major problem. If you look at his career till now without looking at his last name he is an average offensive first liner at best. For all the crap we hear from media and management this guy don't lead by example on the ice on nightly basis.

Yes , he will drop gloves from time to time to protect his boys. But never really encourage his teammates by his play when needed (momentum swing, clutch time ,ect). Guy always trying to yapp with others teams and they just laugh at him, he is not a pest. There is reason why guys like Chris Neil are not captain you need that type of players but they just can't show how it done to win games.

Hate to say it but I hope the reason for his play thus far including pre-season is due to that fall he had in the Pittsburgh game.
He's not engaged and really been missing out there. No real physicality, no shot, no fire.
I certainly hope he's not shutteling back and forth to new jersey constantly; that baby and momma are in town.

Something is up though.

It's seems that no team respect Brady team/Sens in his tenure. When Karlsson or late Alfie was our captain even if we sucked or didn't have the talent people hated playing us. Why because the team had professional attitude and had great worth ethic. You can say whatever you want about EK as Captain but he never never laughed when he was losing or trying to be cute in screen time. He was always focused on his teamplay and his own play. First guy to say he sucked or to tell his teammates that he sucked lmao.He knew he had to lead by exemple by his play first to earn respect from his teamates not just being a Tkachuk. Why cause he learned from good Captain like Alfie. Brady had it too easy here and really lacked mentorship to show him how to lead or how to get it done to win like being smarter in situations of the game. Giroux came too late to have a real impact on Brady. This again one of Dorion's big mistake doing a scorching earth rebuild when we had good players in their mid twenties aka Stone/EK. Stone should have been next captain to show the ropes to our young upcoming players on top of being really close to Brady

Brady has often had big moments against Montreal. That goal seems pretty clutch to me. Literally the one loss we've had against Montreal in YEARS and everyone is ready to burn things to the ground. Does the team need to be better? Yes. Is the sky falling? f*** no, and mocking head fake isn't the final straw some people really seem to think it is.

Bringing up Neil is also pretty confusing given how often he wore an "A" for the team. If management didn't believe he had leadership skills they wouldn't have given it to him.

He might just be the most overrated player in the league. Boomer media loves him because he's a throwback style player but he's complete garbage defensively and the leadership is also questionable. He's immature and just wants guys to get paid.

If Brady and his team no show again, the fans should no show. You guys won’t show up, neither will we. I can just watch games form the last 7 years if I want to see this again

Sanderson should be captain. And if Brady's last name wasn't Tkachuk, Sanderson would be captain.

Sanderson is the guy who gets it.
