I don't think Brady could score the way Heater did.

The CASH/Pizza line was literally one of the best lines from 05-07
That line would have to play a bit different without Heatley but Brady would definitely open up some ice for Spezza and Alfie.

I still think the pizza line would come out on top but both would be great lines.

Now having Tkachuk for some of the battles against Toronto would have been fun, can only imagine Tuckey getting plastered by Brady

I'm not a fan of how he left, but c'mon now. He had one of the best shots in a senator's uniform and his IQ was great. Dude knew where to be and could play make as well.
Anyone else in Sens history get two 50 goal seasons?

If Brady can channel is inner Iginla it'll be him
Iginla didn’t throw the body the same way,
I checked, over his prime years say age 22-31, he had 363 hits. 9 year sample, 708 games, so an average of 40 hits/year.
Brady since joining league, in his 6th year, with a couple of shortened seasons, has 1491 hits.

True but he would add an element of physicality and net presence that the line never had. The space he would open up would allow Alfie and especially Spezza to surpass what they did with Heatley.

Heatley just stood in the front, waiting for a pass, he was so lazy.

He had his moments like that for sure. But he showed how dominant he could be in 06-07 when pretty much the entire team was injured and he played with Chris Kelly. He almost single handedly brought them to the playoffs that year for a good 2 month stretch.

Heatley was a hell of a player in his prime. A shit ass person but a hell of a player.

That being said . . . f*** Heatley

Put Brady with Spezza and Alfie and im thinking he is probably approaching 50 goals too. Chris Kelly paced pretty well with them too after all

When Heater scored 50 you literally could not even touch the forward standing 1 foot in front of your goalie. Heatly scored 50 in the softest time in NHL history

There was only 2 50goals scorer in 06-07
Lecavalier 52
Heatley 50

05-06 saw
Cheechoo 56
Jagr 54
Ovi 52
Kovalchuk 52
Heatley 50

Not sure it was easier to score 50 back then

Back to back 50 goal 100 point seasons is no joke. Two best scoring seasons in Sens history. Unfortunately he declined quickly.

Don't underrate Heatley. Yes, he was a one-dimensional winger who could barely skate, but he had an elite:

- Hockey IQ. Could find and create gaps in coverage at the right times.
- Release. Got shots off quickly and off-balance, if required.
- Shot accuracy. Didn't blow shots by goalies but out them in the right spots, instead..

I liked this comment until the last point; poor taste.

Heatly was a great playmaker, underrated passer in his time here

This is a really gross thing to say. Making light of someone tragically killed in their youth? What a thing to show people of yourself.

Oh yeah did you know him? I didn't but anyone that I know that did only had the best things to say about him. One of the biggest beauties and best teammates you could ever have. Would take the shirt off his own back for you.

So unless you have some concrete evidence of him being a 'shit ass person' maybe keep it to yourself.

What? Right now is by far the softest easiest ers of hockey ever.

No one else has scored 50. No one else is close

Heatley has the two best goal scoring seasons in franchise history, 3 of the 6, 4 of the top 10. No one is remotely close to him in franchise history in terms of goal scoring.

The game has changed so much since Heatly scored 50 - I don’t think we’ll ever see an era where 2 guys like Cheechoo who can’t skate lead the NHL in goals - this guys just stood in open ice and no one could touch them

Conversely, you couldn’t hold up the forecheck so Dman were getting pounded and injured retrieving pucks. Bring in the era of the slippery escape artist Etik Karlsson and the game takes another step forward with offensive from the D.

Was also a very good playmaker. Moved the puck at the right time.

Big body out there. Didn't play physical, but could play the cycle and get to the net.

I met him several times. Guy was never very nice.

Believe it or not. I dont really care. There are plenty of public knowledge scenarios involving Heatley being a dick for it to not be an outlandish thing to say on top of it all.

Remember when y'all were comparing Matthew and Brady's projected points this year after Brady's hot start.

It didn't end well as I predicted..
Interestingly both took steps back in their production this year, but Brady does look like he might set a career high in goals

The PP really hurt us (and Brady) this year, hopefully they get that sorted out next year, he'd probably right around a pt per game had we not been so bad the first half of the year.
