And probably somewhat related to the above...

Just one quick add-on to the slot shot stat for Tkachuk;

79 slot shots out of 135 total shots (assuming the infographic includes last nights game) means almost 60% of his shots are from the slot, which seems pretty crazy. McDavid and Guenzel are even more bonkers at over 70% each.

I'm not sure if everyone noticed this but it was pretty awesome. The Senators were down 6-1 in the 3rd period against Florida a couple of games ago and Brady started getting into it with a few players. Mike Johnson was doing the commentating and he mentioned that Tkachuk was getting into it with seemingly the whole Florida bench. The Florida players had some things to say that Johnson couldn't repeat on air. Johnson then stated that Tkachuk's response was "The game's not over yet". Johnson mentioned how that perfectly encapsulated Tkachuk as a player. After that Tkachuk started running around the next shift and then every Senators player on every shift after that proceeded to play playoff style hockey to the last whistle. It just shows how good of a leader Tkachuk is. The team is down 6-1 and his mentality is that he is going to try to will the team to win. Then the rest of the players follow suit and match his intensity and compete level.

Yah I really liked that as well. Great attitude.

I cannot wait to evntually watch a Senators playoff series with Tkachuk on the team. Especially if it is against the Leafs or Canadiens; I just hope we can get back in the race starting next year.

I feel the same and also have a feeling Chabot will be a solid play-off performer...can't wait to see a young and hungry group back in the dance!

Which reminds me of why I would love to hold on to Pageau. I am a firm believer that people here on HF are overestimating how much he is worth and I think we can sign him to a reasonable long term contract that would not hurt the team in a few years.

Pageau
Tkachuk
White
Chabot
C. Brown

Are all players who I can see as raising their game in the playoffs because they each have a certain playing style that favours the grind game. Maybe not so much Chabot but he is a possession king and he would have no problem elevating his game in the playoffs.

This is why the Raptors needed a player like Kawhi to get over the hump and win a title. That same "will to win" championship mentality. As others have said, I very much look forward to seeing playoff Brady.

Had a good goal on the power play. His pick control while skating is really lacking however. 3 on 1 in OT and he manages to bobble the puck

Will to win but he’s a top 3 player in the league and best defender too. That’s top tier.

He isn't big. He is skinny and lacks strength. Especially, lower body strength. That's why he is week on his skates and is falling everywhere on the ice.

There is no bad news for anyone, except the Senators. He is never going to intimidate anyone with his physical play.

Lol bruh defenceman shit bricks when they have the puck and Brady is coming in for the forecheck.

6 ft 3, nasty and one of the biggest puckhounds in the league.

We are clearly building a team that will be hard to play against night in and night out but it will also have lots of skill. Even if we have a lottery pick next year the following years I would assume would be a playoff bubble team at least. Lots of tenacity in the current line up and also some tenacious players down in Belleville with the likes of Formenton Norris Chlapik. Also guys like Parker Kelly and Kastelic could be fourth line and depth players in a similar role. Let's see what the next few draft picks end up as they can really speed up this rebuild.

Id agree but tbh Chabot is pure special. I don't know how you don't make him the captain.

I agree it's Chabot, I love Brady with all my heart and appreciate his intensity and propensity to agitate, but Chabot has the poise and ability to stay even-keeled (kind of like Kawhi tbh) that are the marks of truly great C's. Plus I think the organization giving him the A in Hainsey's absence indicates that's the direction they will likely go
