I don't understand some people. Kaut/Bowers these guys were on waivers, they have no value whatsoever. Anything we get back that can help the team is a win. You're doing it wrong, be more outraged at a trade that makes sense depth wise, involving a player who couldn't carve out an NHL career here.
Smells like itThis really screams like a "Frankie reinjured one of his hips" type of trade...
They just need a vet #3 who can hold his own in spurts.Watever happens with this the Avs need a new back up this offseason. Francouz cant be trusted.
Well sure he can, but they need a better #3 than JoJo, and they know it.Watever happens with this the Avs need a new back up this offseason. Francouz cant be trusted.
They also need a #2 who won't spontaneously combust. They just need a vet #3 who can hold his own in spurts.
This is my thoughts exactlyRemember when we had Miska in playoff games and people complained we didn't have a decent third goalie? Well we still don't, but at least I've heard of this guy.
Apart from his year-long journey back from the Bubble, Frankie has actually been fine as far as goalie health goes. Goalies get hurt, it happens, organizations just need to understand that and plan accordingly. Avs failed miserably a couple years back with Miska, did somewhat better with JoJo. This time they actually go out and get a veteran, I'm more than okay with this move. They also need a #2 who won't spontaneously combust.
Bowers is no longer a prospect. He's 23, which is either at or very close to the generally accepted age where a hockey player has stopped developing and should be entering his prime. So all things considered Avs got good value on a guy who likely won't ever make it in the NHL. Not really good enough, and definitely not durable enough.Would have preferred a prospect swap, but w/e this helps very slightly, which is still more than Bowers did.
Last time I've seen him in the NHL it was several years ago in Montreal and he was Hutchinson level at best.Avs have apparently been sniffing around. Landed a capable 3. Happy with this
Well...Hutchinson is a 3 as well, so that should be fine.Last time I've seen him in the NHL it was several years ago in Montreal and he was Hutchinson level at best.
Well that's an upgrade on JoJo so sign me up.Last time I've seen him in the NHL it was several years ago in Montreal and he was Hutchinson level at best.
If this is another hip issue with Frank then no he cant be trusted.Well sure he can, but they need a better #3 than JoJo, and they know it.
