As a Canucks fan, I would give up a good asset to have him part of the package, a large part, but given the risk I would need something else. Like him and a second for Horvat. It could hurt or it could be a home run. You have to take the kind of risk to get someone with his upside outside of getting to draft.

His value right now is too low to be worth it.

There's also the question of how that would affect the room. From all accounts, Bowen is a really likable kid with a great personality who is loved by his teammates. Dumping him while he's at his lowest has the potential of creating a really toxic atmosphere in the room. Things are going quite well for the Avs on the ice right now....don't try and fix what ain't broke.

Rakell, Steel and Manson for him pending health. Take a run.

Avs should just hold onto him unless someone is willing to give them someone who will make a big impact. Hope the kid makes his way back he’s dedicated his whole life to hockey, probably has never had a real job would really suck to see it all taken away from him at 20. Still has loads of potential best wishes to him.

Avs would be beyond dumb to even entertain the thought of trading him. When he played he looked fantastic, there's no winning the deal for the Avs here.

The issue is that I don't see any team offering anyone who would make a big enough impact to justify trading a 20 year old with elite 1D potential and another ELC year left, even with the health concerns. If Byram can recover from the concussion issues and play like he's shown when healthy, we're looking at potentially 10+ years of having him co-anchor our defense with Makar. That isn't something you give up for a short term rental, I don't really care who the rental is. I'd want another ~20 year old, still on his ELC, who has shown flashes like Byram has, and I don't expect there are any teams looking to move that kind of player.

The only move to be made here is to give him the time he needs and hope he can recover. There's no point in even listening to offers.

No realistic return makes sense for the Avs and the the Avs ask won’t make sense for teams acquiring him. He’d require a 2C or top 3D with term(younger the better) for it to make sense to move him. But the risk isn’t worth it for teams offer that up at the moment.

Gaudreau is an elite talent in the realm of Rantanen and Mackinnon. Obviously he would have to re-sign but he’s better than Tkachuk by a country mile.

Talent isn't the only thing that matters. Tkachuk would be valued a lot more on the Avs than Gaudreau. Although I would rather just keep Bo as I don't think we can afford to sign either.

The Avs have no reason to sell low on him. He has too much upside. It would be beyond dumb to sell low on Byram.
This...his upside if he recovers from his concussion issues is way to high to trade him for a depth rental to help a great team.
