I thought the Habs were making space to let young players in the lineup not signing washed up players to kill their chances :shakehead. That is one giant finger to our prospects.

They are, provided Therrien is told Bouillon is the 7th defenseman. In fact, Bergevin should put that in the contract and stipulate he can only play ahead of Beaulieu or Tinordi if we have two injuries and we are that desperate. He is also banned from ever playing with Subban even if the alternative is to play Subban by himself.

Anything else is a fireable offense!

When are we going to give Beaulieu/Tinordi a full shot? Let's be honest, if we sign Bouillon, we all know Therrien is going to use him quite a bit.

Depth is what all of the good teams have. Signing Cube is nothing but a depth move. Both Tinordi and Beaulieu have to simply come to camp and solidify a spot. Bouillon at his age and deteriorating skill set cannot beat these guys out. If he does, we have bigger problems...

He was supposed to be a depth move the last two years. He wasn't brought in to play ahead of our young guys but that's what he's done. You're straight up delusional if you think he's not going to play 60+ games. No other teams have even been asking for his services and we're negotiating to bring him back?

Don't need him, don't want him.Bergevin needs to stop this Madness and stop wasting salary cap on useless depth d-men like: Murray, Bouillon and Drewiske when you have already Beaulieu, Tinordi and Pateryn waiting for an opportunity.

Same with Murray last year. Ended up playing 53 games.

Why?

Warrior, tough, plays with heart....but hes done. And even if he doesn't, let the young guys play. Obviously Tinordi & Bealieu need playing time. I'd rather give Nygren and Pateryn real opportunities to make the team.

If anything, invite Cube to camp, and if the kids aren't ready, then sign him.

No cap space wasted on Drewiske

its a good thing we dont have a coach who doesnt reward players with their commensurate amount of ice time so that we all know that if tinordi and beaulieu outplay cube that they will get the lions share of playing time.

wait, we dont have such a coach, and the notion that a resigned bouillion plays only 20 games is incomprehensible.

Murray had a role to play. Doled out punishing hits often enough that the Habs handled their crease better than in previous years.

But Tinordi can take over now, we hope.

WTF I thought we were finally rid of him. They might sign him as a 7th defenseman but I'd bet anything he'll have more play time than the rookies.

Gotta have that useless French player on the roster I guess.

No problem with this, he's a good depth player and team guy, but should not be a regular or getting PP time at all this season. Will be a sub and a fill in when guys are injured.

Who are RDS' insiders nowadays anyway?

I wouldn't put too much faith in this article.

If he shot right I MIGHT understand as a outlet depth move if the HAD to sign him. With Tinner and Beau both on the left as the 6 and 7 guys, it makes ZERO sense to sign him.

Looking at this list of UFAs, tell me there isn't one who is a better choice than Bou :shakehead:

Wish it were so but that is not how the Habs operate. They put their young players in a position to fail and then trade them for peanuts.

A little respect for a true professional would be nice. The guy was solid for a long time and didn't complain when benched. I don't want to see Bouillon being the default choice ahead of our rookies, but if he's willing to be more of a mentor than player - fine. With so much hanging on Tinordi, Beaulieu, Pateryn and (maybe) Nygren, we could really use a vet taking on a teachable role.
