I hate facing hot goalies that come out of nowhere. Little to no scouting report on them. If Alex Lyon is the lead to our team's demise, so help me god.
Let not your heart be troubled. Alex Lyon is a mirage. He was a complete and total stiff in the Flyers’ organization for several years, and played the last few years in the AHL, for Pete’s sake. Dude is a journeyman at best. :yo:

People who haven’t watched much of Florida this year looking on paper and saying blue line depth or goaltending will be the issue when it’s really the forward depth.

With Bennett out the center lineup is Barkov-Lundell-Staal-White

The top line is good and Tkachuk is enough by himself to carry the 2nd line but the bottom 6 is terrible and will get dominated by any Boston line any time they’re out there.
Thought I heard on one broadcast there was a decent chance Bennett might make it back in time. That was about a week ago though.

Bruins in 6. I am reading through the Bruins thread and am surprised at how confident their fans are to already win the Cup. I fully expect Boston to win this series, but the best team in the regular season rarely wins. Also the Bruins have 1 Cup in 50 years against a notorious choking franchise and have choked multiple years (2013, 2019, hell '96 vs Florida) we'll see how well this post ages but it's a long post-season.
I haven’t seen that at all. Most Bruins fans are super excited for the playoffs to start, and that’s fair. But I haven’t seen many predicting a Cup. I have seen a lot of “this season is great and will be truly great if there is a Cup” — but that’s more an indication that the real prize is the Cup.

Marchand talked at length the other night about the B’s being proud of the season they’ve had and how they worked as a team to accomplish a good result in the RS. However, he made it crystal clear that the real work hasn’t even started and the players are singularly focused on the real achievement.

Pasta (I’m pretty sure it was him) said they celebrated the wins/points record for “about 5 minutes“ then turned the page.

Too much leadership on Bruins to be happy with Regular Season success. Hope it turns out well, but fans mean squat. And if Bruins fall short it won’t be because of lack of focus or overconfidence on part of players or coaching staff.

The only caveat I'm leaving for Florida is that this Bruins team have been playing meaningless games without any pressure for at least half a season, while Florida just managed to claw its way back into the playoffs in a long series of must win-games.

The old guard can probably handle the big increase in pressure, but can Ullmark, Pastrnak, McAvoy and Lindholm?

Still voted Boston in 5.
if your hopes rest on Charlie McAvoy, nicknamed "Chuckie Brightlights," wilting under the pressure of the playoffs its going to bum you out to hear that he made his NHL debut in the playoffs and has played 71 playoff games to a 55% xG playing against his opponent's best players.

Adversity is just a word used by those who don't want to have to give credit to the Bruin's record setting season. If they had multiple injuries, won a bunch of OT/Shootout games, and limped into the playoffs with a 100 point season, the mantra wouldn't be "look at all the adversity they faced", it would be "Boston's not that good, look at their record." The agenda is so transparent, it's a wonder anybody claims this nonsense.

Panthers might win a game or two as they have been playing desperate hockey for a month already and might catch the Bruins snoozing . But once the Bs get going , they are just too strong and deep to lose a series .

14% of people here have voted for the Panthers to win the series. Betting markets have the implied odds at around 30% for the Panthers winning the series.

I promise no one is underestimating the team with the all time NHL wins record here. 65% of people here have voted for them to win in 4 or 5

Whatever the fans are saying is irrelevant. The Bruins are a veteran team, they’ve both won and lost Game 7 of the SCF, they know what it takes to win. I would be stunned if they take anything for granted or are over confident

I must say that in all these Playoff Series threads, the civil nature of things is impressive.

What is the over under on the amount of infractions handed out on Monday (I think that’s Day One)?

Or am I wrong? Will these threads all turn bitter and nasty on Sunday?

For now though, you Florida fans are a nice lot.

Could Tkachuck vs Marchand be an epic matchup?

Anyone has any idea if coaches will seek or avoid their respective lines being on at the same time?
Chucky has played on the second line pretty much all season, if that helps

Probably because we’re just happy to be here this year lol.

Also, we haven’t played each other in the playoffs since 1996.

So happy to get to watch a Tkachuk/Marchand battle. I hope they beat the crap out of each other.

Only solace of losing in 4 is watching the Habs fans lose their mind crying over our pick and how the Panther’s suck and didn’t deserve to be in the playoffs

The Bruins are just too good and too deep to lose this. The Panthers have good top-end talent, but the bottom of the lineup is bad. They'll also need the Lyon magic to continue.

Boston will win, but I don't think it'll be a cakewalk. I can see Florida taking 2 or 3 games.

Thanks!

To cut to the chase: Will Tkachuk and Marchand be on the ice at the same time and you’d expect sparks will fly?

I don’t know, so asking those who have seen more.
