Vasi has really faded in the back half of the season, he looks tired out there.

Really hoping that Boston wins tomorrow, I would much rather face TB than BOS in the first round. With the compressed schedule and the Leafs firepower, there is a good chance we could just wear Vasi right out.

The sweet potential revenge against the Bruins or the easier apparent match-up against the lightning.
I just want playoffs, bring on whoever.

There is no way i would call it "easier", maybe "safer?"

we all know round 1 is the most violent and volatile and those 2 words describes the Bs in the POs and how the refs treat those games.

Gimme the glorified shiny game against Tbay.

So which poison are most Leaf's fans hoping for?

The Devils were 3-0 against Tampa this year, so for us it's a no brainer.

So the ideal scenario tomorrow would be both Bergeron and Marchand getting hurt and Boston loses, am I right? :sarcasm:

Lightning for me

they havent been very good of late, and Vasielvskiy has gone from being vezina lock to not even finishing top 5

They're always saying the league is in the tank for the Leafs. I also have never seen bigger whiners about officiating than the Bruins fans. I thought Ottawa fans were the worst but Boston actually out cries even Senator fans.

the hilarious thing is they are arguably the dirtiest team in the league and have the biggest rat of em all.
remember in 2013 when marchand threw a water bottle on the ice to delay the puck drop and nothing?

yeah

lol the bruins board saying we get alot of chintzy pp's and the refs are on our side lol.

marchand didnt even get suspended for nearly taking duclairs head off...and he got hurt on the play.
hilarious how they use to have the disciplinarians son on the team and still whined LOL

Bring on either, but if I had to pick....Tampa because we have never played them in post season, probably be more entertaining, higher scoring games, seem to be stumbling a bit but they are a deep team, make no doubt about it. Either will be a tough tough series. Tampa is deadly in the second period and late in games, no lead is safe as we have experienced.

Boston is also deep and talented, but play a different style. More grind it out games but the revenge factor and finding out about this Plekanec/Marchand hate storyline would be fun too. I just look forward to seeing our young guys step up a notch in post season. I think they have a gear we haven't seen.

So true, they seem to always cry about reffing. But let's look at the facts this season:

  • Boston PP Opportunities: 11th league wide
  • Toronto PP Opportunities: 27th league wide
The two clubs were tied in this stat last year (16th/17th overall). Prior to that it seems Toronto would get more PPs per season, but seeing as how this is a completely different team from 2016 onwards this is irrelevant.

For the time being that excuse won't fly as it's compete bunk.

Can't believe we still don't know who will play, it's been two months of speculation

We're playing Tampa. Bring on the playoff hockey.

This is Ticketmaster's "view from seat" of our tickets to next Saturday's game in Tampa (right behind Tampa's bench)..

Yeah, I'm gonna have to say I want them to play Tampa in the first round.

Both teams peaked way too early. It is hard to decide.
One thing we have to be thankful for, Tampa and Boston both got owned badly in those trades to "Get Better" for Nash and McD. THey've looked worse since those moves and hurt their organizational depth going forward.

There's one advantage the Leafs have over Tampa Bay this year- they would absolutely feast on the atrocious TB penalty kill. That could break the series wide open in the Leafs' favour.

But the drama of a Boston-Toronto series is much, much more attractive to me IMO. I want nothing more than to send the Bruins packing.
